George "Duko" Marochak, 90, of Forward Twp., passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a production line worker for Fisher Body in West Mifflin and a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. A Marine veteran serving during World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post 75 in Clairton.
Born September 14, 1925 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late George and Mary Marochak, and husband of the late Velma Marochak. He is survived by daughters, Gloria Vereb of Elizabeth and Marie (Jeff) Humenik of West Newton; sons, Dennis (Jean) Marochak of Lakewood, IL, and Luke Marochak of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (Mike) Goda of Forward Twp.; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Thomas Marochak. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 12:30 PM in St. Michael Parish with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, SW Region, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
