Charles D. "Charlie" Witzell, 85, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of West Mifflin, died Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was born March 9, 1931 in Duquesne and was the son of the late Charles D. and Mary Koribanic Witzell. He was retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers and was a US Navy Veteran. He enjoyed bowling and golfing. Affectionately known as "Uncle Bud", he is survived by nieces, Michele (Daniel) Trovato, Cynthia A. (George) Myers, and Susan (Frank) Pajkurich, nephew, Michael (Paul) Chiaverini, great-nieces, great nephews, a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha (Michael) Chiaverini, brothers, Lester F. (Mickey) Witzell, Sr., Robert James Witzell, and Edward Burris Witzell, and a nephew, Lester F. "Butch" Witzell, Jr. Friends are welcome Sunday August 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday August 29 at 10:00 am with The Rev. Jody Dausey, officiating.
