Peter U. Lotz, Sr.,  80, of Liberty Borough, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born September 10, 1941 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Herman and Martha Jane (Bildhauser) Lotz. Pete was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, and the Liberty Borough Lions Club. He also coached football for GYFA.

He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and was Proprietor of Pete Lotz Construction. He had previously worked for the National Cash Register Company. Pete was a devoted family man, both to his wife and children, and to his siblings and mother. His family is what he lived for. As a Master Craftsman, Pete built houses and additions for family and others. He loved animals (especially dogs), sports, (football and NASCAR) and cars (Antique and Muscle). Even when they were older, he and Marlyne would cruise around with the top down in his 67 Pontiac Firebird, chirping tire like teenagers, looking for a race. His big heart lead him to give his all to anyone and everyone.

He is survived by his wife, Marlyne E. (Baker) Lotz, children, Robert (Janet) Allan of North Huntingdon, Jeffrey (Janice) Allan, William (Pamela) Allan, Susan Lotz (Kevin) Kupecz and Peter (Angela) Lotz, Jr., of Liberty Borough, grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Zachary, Jacob, Noah, Faith, Paige, Abigail, Kevin Jr, Madison, Grace and Ella, great-grandchildren, Desmond, Alexander, Lilly, Adelie, Ezra, Eden, Simon, Malcolm, and Spencer, sisters, Carole Louise Miller and Janet Ruth Ghetian of Elizabeth Township, Elizabeth Ann Perhacs of Freehold, NJ., and Bernice Noreen Stoken of Munhall, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Morrell Lotz and sister, Doris Elaine Keebler. Friends are welcome Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 10 am. The Rev. Jody Dausey will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pete Lotz, Sr. Craftsman Scholarship which is a trade based scholarship at South Allegheny High School.
