Helen J. Kielnar, age 95, of McKeesport, died on Thursday, January 12, 2023. She was born in McKeesport on August 18, 1927 and is the daughter of the late Alexander Michalek and Catherine V. Gliwa Michalek and the wife of the late Stanley J. Kielnar, who died on May 15, 2022. Stanley and Helen were married for 71 years. Helen was employed at Zayre’s Department Store in Versailles and worked as a clerk. She was a member of Christian Mothers, at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church.
She is survived by her children, Beth Ann (Anthony) Turcan of Elizabeth, PA; Stephen Kielnar of McKeesport, PA; grandson, Jozef (Marissa Mizla) Turcan of Elizabeth, PA; sister, Cathi (the late Les) Glanz of Essex, VT; sister-in-law, Mary Jo Michalek of Pleasant Hills, PA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Helen is preceeded in death by brother, Edward (the late Jean) Michalek; brother, Robert Michalek; sister, Laura (the late Edmund) Adamek; sister, Alice (the late John) Rybar; and sister-in-law Cecilia (the late James) Calvin. Family and friends are meeting on Saturday, January 14, 2023 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Polish Cemetery.
