Patrick J. Mercurio, age 92, of McKeesport, died October 24, 2016, at Riverside Care Center. Born November 30, 1923, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Costantino and Giovanini (Masceri) Mercurio and the husband of Mildred (Keresman) Mercurio, for over 60 years. Patrick worked at Cox’s Department Store, where he was a buyer in the men’s clothing department for over 25 years and later retired from Macy’s, as a salesman. He was US Army veteran, serving during WWII.

Patrick was the oldest living member of the McKeesport Lion’s Club, where he was past president and recipient of the Melvin Jones award. Additionally, he was a member of St. Patrick Parish. In addition to his wife, Patrick is survived children, Donna Varner of Annapolis, MD and David Mercurio of Fort Worth, TX; also many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by siblings, Nicholas, Michael and Josephine. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, October, 28, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, at 1 p.m., with Fr. Vincent Velas as celebrant. Committal service with military honors will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery.
