Helen Holmes, age 93, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. She was a member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Elizabeth and was a former clerk at Marraccini’s grocery store in White Oak. Born May 15, 1930 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late George and Ester (Turoczy) Kormos and wife of the late Robert W. Holmes Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl (John) Haseleu of Elizabeth Twp.; son, Robert W. (Nikki) Holmes Jr. of Rostraver Twp.; grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Zowacki of North Huntingdon, Stacey (Paul) Shilk of Elizabeth Twp., Brittany Holmes of New York City, NY, Chelsea Holmes of Miami, FL and Collin Holmes of Eighty-Four; great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Ethan Zowacki; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Holmes, and siblings, Margaret Skiba, Al and George Kormos. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Ave Elizabeth, PA 15037 on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jack H. Piper officiating.
