Justin M. Detar, Sr., 44, of Sewickley Twp, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024. He was born March 1, 1979 in Greensburg and was the son of Anthony J. (Kathy) Detar and Nancy L. Getchey (John) Jury. Justin worked in Masonry and Construction and was very proud of his craft. He enjoyed fishing with his children on the Yough River and also enjoyed camping. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Isabella Detar and Justin Detar, Jr.; nieces, Madison Schutter and Jennifer Getchey; nephew, Eric Schutter; step-sister, Marissa Toman; special friend, Kelly Keener; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Anthony C. "Tony" Detar, who passed away April 22, 2016; sister, Deanna R. Detar-Schutter, who passed away December 3, 2021; his stepmother, Beverly (Kytchak) Detar; paternal grandparents, Charles R. and Angeline (Spinogatti) Detar; maternal grandparents, William and Betty J. (Nuttall) Getchey and Pappy John and Grammy Ann Jury. There is no visitation or services planned.
