Sara E. Sidney, age 89, of McKeesport, died at home on June 9, 2024. Born January 2, 1935, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Mayfield and wife of the late Robert Sidney.

Sara led a life marked by dedication and service. For 25 years, she was an Office Supervisor for American General, bringing her expertise and warmth to her colleagues and clients alike. After her retirement from American General, she continued to work for many years for the Department of Human Services of Western Pennsylvania. Even in retirement, she continued to serve others by preparing taxes from her home, sharing her knowledge, and lending a helping hand to many.

Sara's faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she was a dedicated member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Her spirit of compassion and generosity was a beacon to all who knew her. In her leisure time, she found joy in simple pleasures, such as the excitement of casino trips with her late husband and friends, and the camaraderie of lunch outings with her beloved companions.

In her younger years, Sara and her husband shared the joy of bowling together in couples leagues, creating lasting memories of fun and friendly competition. Throughout her life, Sara's kindness, grace, and resilience left an indelible mark on the hearts of those around her.

Sara is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Gary) Simko; grandson, Christopher (Angie Agee) Simko; great-grandchildren, Allison and Abigail Agee; caregiver, Jamie Guffey. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by brothers Robert, Kenneth, and David Mayfield. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
