Josephine D'Amico (Chiaverini), 90 years old, from Port Vue, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on July 3, 2024. Josephine was born in Palena, Italy on September 1, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Lucia (Palumbo) and Michele' Chiaverini. Sister of Maria Pistas and the late Pasquale Chiaverini.

Survived by sister-in-law Maddalena Chiaverini, along with nieces and nephew. Beloved wife of the late Ermo V. D'Amico. They were married on June 20, 1953, and were inseparable for 51 years until his passing in 2004. Devoted mother to Clare Shutty (John) of Robinson Twp., Clemente D'Amico (Beth) of Coatesville, PA, Antoinette Hornfeck (deceased), Mary Ann Connors (Bill) of Port Vue, PA, and Christine Cordisco (John) of Thorndale, PA; Cherished grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Vincent, Bobby, Stephanie, Lauren, Shannon and Angela; and 16 great grandchildren.

Josephine was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church in Port Vue, the Palanese Club, the South Allegheny Italian Social Club and McKeesport Lodge 57. Josephine and her husband (to him, it was always "My Josie") immigrated from Italy in 1954 and made America their forever home. Their love story started when he saw a picture of her, and he knew right then she was the one for him. She found comfort and happiness in life's simple pleasures like sitting on her porch and making Italian coffee for everyone. Her kindness and warmth, along with her immense generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. "Josie" was an excellent cook, baker, sewer, loved gardening in her yard and enjoyed making homemade wine with her husband. Most importantly, the love she had for her family was immeasurable. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Southwestern Veterans' Center and the staff of Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and compassionate support. Josie was loved by all.

Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. with a blessing service beginning at noon.
