Yvonne (Vonnie) Rae Smeltz Lehnhardt, 76, of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2024.  She was born on April 9, 1948.  She graduated from Turtle Creek High School in 1966, and also graduated from Franco's Beauty Academy shortly after.  Vonnie was formerly employed by Westinghouse Research Labs before spending 9 years of her life serving other people and/or families through the Blackburn Center in Greensburg, PA.  After her retirement, she proceeded to donate her time to Westmoreland Hospice because she believed that nobody should die alone.  She was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church for over 40 years, Harrold Zion Lutheran Church in Greensburg, PA, as well as Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, Florida.  Vonnie always knew how to light up a room when she walked in and made everyone feel welcomed.  She always had the best stories to tell and could make anyone laugh.  At the young age of 13, she met the love of her life, Jack Lehnhardt, whom she was married to for 56 years.  They shared a beautiful life in Pennsylvania before moving to Florida.  Vonnie is survived by her beloved husband, Jack, sons John (Jaime) Lehnhardt, and Ken (Chasity) Lehnhardt, daughter Krista (Butch) Matijevic, sister Diane Galante (Jim Van Kuiken), 5 grandchildren, Isabella, Sydney, A.J., Alex, and Shane, 2 great-grandchildren, Paisley and Tatum, and one nephew and godson, one niece and sister in law Pat Lehnhardt.  Friends and family will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, located at 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon PA, on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM.  Final viewing will take place in the funeral home on Monday at 10 AM with a service following at 11 AM at Harrold Zion Lutheran Church.  Interment will follow at Harrold Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Blackburn Center in Greensburg.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
