Frances A. Hoffman, age 82, of White Oak, PA, died Thursday, August 1, 2024. Born June 28, 1942, in Braddock, PA, she is the daughter of the late Ronald F. and Marguerite J. Coyne Shephard.

She was an LPN for approximately 30 years in Behavioral Health. She loved gardening, birdwatching, and traveling.

Frances is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Hoffman of Monroeville, PA; daughters, Laura A. (Ronald) Martin of Pitcarin, PA; Ellen M. (Marty Urick) Garia of Verona, PA; Susan J. Garia of Level Green, PA; grandchildren, Fred (Kate) Hartz; Maria (Jae) Urick; Joseph (Shanelle) Garia; Michael Urick; Sean (Mercedes) Martin; and Alexis (Jake) Garia; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that she loved.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her brother, James Shephard; and granddaughter Amanda Garia.

Family and friends will gather on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Reverend Scott Bryte. Burial will follow.
