Strifflers Family Funeral Homes
Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | April 13, 2025
She was born to parents August and Alma (Fullard) Regensburger on February 10, 1937 in Saint Clairsville, Ohio. Eleanor graduated from McKeesport High School and immediately enrolled in beauty school. After graduation, she began a career as a beautician with her best friend, Sandy Mikita. Once starting a family, Eleanor opened her own home beauty shop that lasted well into her 70’s. She was a devout Catholic who had a strong relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary – living every day with love, grace and compassion. Enio and Eleanor were very active at St. Angela Merici Church as well as the Italian Sons and Daughters. Eleanor also loved to cook, a skill she learned from her mother-in-law. Even though her heritage was Irish and German, she adopted her husband Enio’s Italian traditions and instilled this in her children. Rarely was there a time when the dinner table wasn’t surrounded by friends and family eating a full Italian meal.
Eleanor married Enio, the love of her life, in 1959, who preceded her in death last year. Eleanor (Nonna) and Enio (Pap) lived a charmed life together at their home in White Oak, PA surrounded by great neighbors and dedicated family. They were inseparable for 64 years and were role models for their children on how to live life to its fullest. Eleanor is also survived by daughter Carla Tozzi Husnick (husband Mark) and sons Enio Tozzi Jr (wife Sherri) and Dino Tozzi (wife Angela). Enio and Eleanor were blessed to have eight grandchildren: Zoe, Enio III, Alessia, Gianna, Carlo, Antonina, Isabella and Domenico. She was the best Nonna! Eleanor will be remembered for her devoted love of her husband Enio and family – she was dedicated to being the best mother possible. Her children are living examples of her overwhelming love and compassion. Eleanor was known for her tremendous generosity, selflessness, constant smile, and desire to help those less fortunate. She cared for multiple elderly neighbors throughout their time on Kansas Ave, providing her own personal “meals on wheels” delivery during every holiday. Eleanor will leave her family with grace, love and empathy that will ripple into generations to come. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Eleanor’s memory on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177).
