Marie Elizabeth Moffat, aged 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 7, 2025, in McKeesport, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 19, 1950, in McKeesport, she was a beacon of light and an embodiment of love throughout her life.  Marie was the cherished wife of Dennis H. Moffat, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and many memories. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Dennis C. Moffat of West Newton, Christina (Michael) Andiorio of Irwin, and Timothy (Melissa) Moffat of Delmont. Her role as a grandmother was one she held dear to her heart, always providing wisdom and warmth to her grandchildren, Andrew Moffat of California, Michelle (Jeffrey) Minnicks of McKeesport, Abigail (Michael) Andiorio of Irwin, and Amanda (Nick) Moffat of Delmont.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Stella Schussler, brothers Edward and Kenneth Schussler, and sister-in-law Lynn Simko.

Marie was a woman of many passions and took great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for gardening was evident to all who knew her, with her flower garden being a vibrant tapestry that reflected the care and attention she dedicated to it. She enjoyed Friday morning breakfast with her friends, along with a shopping trip or two along the way. She could also be found hanging out with her favorite Golden Retriever, Lily, who will miss her mommy dearly.  Her creative spirit found solace in the beauty of craft shows, where she marveled at the ingenuity of others while sharing her talents each Christmas in the Angels she made for others. Marie's enthusiasm for nature had every neighborhood bird at her house eating, and it extended to her fondness for watching the Eagle Cameras, a pastime that brought her much peace and connected her to the majestic beauty of the natural world and many new friends around the country.  Marie's presence was a gift to everyone around her, and her impact on her family and friends was profound. Her kindness, her open heart, and her unwavering support of her loved ones are aspects of her legacy that will continue to thrive in the lives of those she touched. The wisdom she imparted and the unconditional love she offered are treasures that her family will carry forward.  Her journey through life was marked by a grace that she maintained even in the face of her illness. Marie's strength and dignity throughout her battle with cancer were an inspiration to all who were privileged to know her. She faced each day with courage and a smile that never waned, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of her family, friends, and caregivers.  Marie's life was a testament to the beauty that can be cultivated in the world through kindness, dedication to family, and a genuine appreciation for the bonds of friendship. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her existence, and it is this love that will endure as her greatest legacy.  Marie Elizabeth Moffat will be deeply missed, yet her light will continue to shine in the memories of those who loved her. As the seasons change and the flowers in her garden bloom, and the birds start to come and feed, we will be reminded of her, of her love for life, and of the beautiful imprint she left on this world. She has found peace, and while we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led. Rest in peace, dear Marie, until we meet again.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
