Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 23, 2025
It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Becky Rose Reeder, who left this world peacefully at her home in Port Vue at the age of 65. A beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Becky lived a life full of adventure, love, and generosity. A former resident of Virginia and Idaho, Becky returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh to be close to the place and people she cherished most.
Becky's career as a travel agent on Capitol Hill reflected her adventurous spirit and passion for exploring the world. An avid skier, she conquered slopes across the globe, embracing every journey with her signature enthusiasm and style. Always fashionable and effortlessly chic, Becky had a radiant presence and a smile that could brighten any room.
She was a devoted mother to Dylan and Grant Reeder, always supporting them and showing up in any way she could. She was proud, and she loved her two boys with all her heart and soul. She was also a loving caretaker to her two fur babies, Holly and Charlotte, who never left her side. Becky's love extended beyond her family - she had faith in God and was truly a selfless soul. Becky would give the shirt off her back if needed and was always such a kind and supportive friend. Her sense of humor, creativity, and boundless energy made every moment spent with her memorable. Becky was passionate about giving back to her community, often lending her time and heart to those in need. Whether on the golf course, planning her next adventure, or organizing gatherings, she lived life with joy, grace, and purpose.
She is survived by her son Grant Emery Reeder (fiancée Sarah Miller); sister Sheree (John) Kapusta; brothers, William (Pam) Stevens and Edward (Heather) Stevens; nieces, Carrie (Justin) Betters, Casey Stevens, Katelyn, and Chelsea Stevens; nephews, John R. (Alicia) Kapusta, Edward, Craig, William "Sonny" Stevens; great-niece, Julia Betters, and Rayne Stevens, great-nephew, Aiden and Cole Kapusta, Jacob Betters, and Edward S. Stevens; beloved doodles, Holly Berry, and Charlotte as well as lifelong friends who she treasured dearly. Becky was preceded in death by her son, Dylan Reeder, and mother, Shirley Burd.
