Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 27, 2025

Margaret Willard, age 73, of McKeesport, died October 25, 2025, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born February 6, 1952, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Lawrence and Joanna May (Broerman) Maresco.
Margaret spent many joyful years sharing her passion for sweets at Scozio's Bakery inside Giant Eagle. She was an avid reader, immersing herself in the worlds of mystery and romance novels that her son, Bill Willard, would bring home in bags full from the library. A connoisseur of fun, Margaret found joy in crossword puzzles, competitive games of Yahtzee, and the thrill of thrift store treasure hunting. She adored Elvis Presley and had a special fondness for animals, particularly her beloved pet cat. Her family often likened her to Rose from "The Golden Girls" for her lively spirit and ability to engage in conversations that seemed to have no end. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she relished every moment spent with her grandchildren, showering them with love.
Margaret is survived by her children, Bill James Willard Jr. and Olivia Joanna Willard; sisters, Cathlene (Paul) DiAngelo, Antoinetta Marie Marasco, and Theresa Joanna Margliotti; grandchildren, Mariah Margaret Boyce and Tristan William Boyce; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her brother, Earnest Lawrence Marasco Jr.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. A mass will be announced at a later date. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.
