Chester J. Smith, age 75, of Clairton, died on January 7, 2026, at Jefferson Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center. Born March 1, 1950, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clara (Gaston) Smith and husband of Carol (Colarik) Smith for 53 years. Chester spent many years as a skilled crane operator, contributing his expertise to Liberty Salvage and J. Allan Steel. His steadfast love for his family mirrored his commitment to his profession. In addition to his dedication to work and family, Chester had a vibrant spirit that shone brightly during moments of leisure. He found great joy in watching WWE wrestling alongside his beloved wife, creating a tradition that added laughter and excitement to their lives. Their shared outings in their younger years to see his sister-in-law's husband spin records as a DJ, echoing the rhythm of joy and togetherness. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by sons, Chad (Chris) Smith and Ken Smith; grandchildren, Haley and Nathan; and sister, Etta Mae Trump.
