Janine J. Petroski Kapcin, age 58, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away in her home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. She was born in North Braddock, PA on April 20, 1967, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Barbara (Sandor) Petroski. She was the wife of the late Charles (Chas) Kapcin, who passed away on July 1, 2025.
Janine is survived by her beloved dog, Scooty; her aunt, Renee Cromling of North Braddock, PA; her niece, Erica (James, Jr) Chmill and great nephew, Alex, of Swissvale, PA; her cousin Aimee (Matthew) Swope of Flinton, PA; and her godson, Aaron. Janine is further survived by her step-daughter, Sonya Kapcin; sisters-in-law, Karen (Samuel) Pelchar, Lori (Dennis) Butler and Joy Puskaric; and brothers-in-law, Jay (Kathy) Kapcin and Joe (Linda) Kapcin; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great neighbors.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Laureen (David) McGartland, and her fur babies, Lucky boy and Baily Black Jack Balboa Bichon. She enjoyed practicing Reiki, working the election polls, and spending time with her family, friends, dogs, and neighbors.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Janine’s memory on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
