Janet B. (Smith) Temple, 85, of North Versailles, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born December 16, 1940 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Glenn and Elizabeth (Shavinsky) Smith, who owned and operated Smith’s Corner Store in East McKeesport. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step sister Patricia DiLucente and step brother Gary Davidson. She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Mary Mother of God Parish, was a graduate of East McKeesport High School class of 1958, and was the former Mother’s Club president of Boy Scout Troop #85. Prior to her retirement Janet worked as an office administrator for 20 years in Glassport for in Dr. Sang E. Lee. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed horseback riding, her Borzoi dogs, loved the music of Elvis Presley, and belonged to his fan club. She is survived by her husband Lloyd M. Temple, children Michael S. Temple (Julie Harbin) of Notasulga, AL, Chris (Lisa) Temple of State College, Jennifer (Sean) Edwards of Level Green; grandchildren Rachael Temple, Kyle Temple (Kaylin), Brianna (Tim) Ruhle, Sean (Kim) Edwards, Ryan Edwards, Casey (Kile) Webb, Erin Temple (Brian Fannin), Kelsey Temple, and Emily Temple (Chris Ledbetter); great grandchildren Mark Pamer, Asher Pamer, Kaden Temple, Karsyn Temple, Killian Webb, Maeve Edwards, and Breelyn Fannin; her brother Glenn (Beverly) Smith of Monroeville, and nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the Forgie- Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway Avenue, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. in the funeral home Saturday, interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
