David J. Bowers Jr., 69, a resident of Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry Township, formerly of North Huntingdon, died at home Tuesday February 16, 2016. He was born July 24, 1946 in McKeesport, a son of the late David J. Sr. and Lorraine (Shaw) Bowers and was also preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy J. (Pekarsky) Bowers. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and an Army reservist. David was a retired employee of Leybold Vacuum Products, Export and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin.

He is survived by his daughters, Ann M. Karpinsky and her husband Greg of Cranberry Township and Debra A. Liner and her husband Brett of Seattle, WA; his grandsons, Ryan and Eric Karpinsky; and a brother, Douglas Bowers of Lowber. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where parting prayers will be held at 9 a.m. Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
