Albert A. Mayer, age 88, of McKeesport, died Aug. 25, 2017, at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville.  Born Dec. 6, 1928, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Rose Mary (Rice) Mayer.

Albert was a gifted pianist and organist.  He held a University of Pittsburgh Master’s Degree and continued his studies there well into his 70s.  He loved Pittsburgh and attending concerts and other events in the city.  His Catholic faith was central in his life; he never missed daily mass.  Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. 

Survivors include his brother, Bernard of North Huntingdon; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by brother, Felix and sisters-in-law, Anna and Marcia.

Family and friends will be welcomed at Willig Funeral Home Tuesday morning, Aug. 29th, from 10 – 11:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon in Corpus Christi Church, McKeesport.  Interment will follow in St. Mary German Cemetery.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com
