Elsie (Lloyd) Greenwald, age 92, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Southwestern Nursing Center. She was a retired operator/clerk for Bell Telephone-Verizon in Pittsburgh. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Jefferson Hills and was active with the Jolly 60's at Beulah Baptist Church. Her hobbies included needlework and crocheting, and she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren.
Born February 4, 1925 in Jefferson Borough, she was a daughter of the late Harry B. and Mary Belle (Keenist) Lloyd and wife of the late Howard “Ross” Greenwald Sr. She is survived by daughters, Cathy G. (James) Blank of Ijamsville, MD, and Jeanne G. (Jeffrey) Reed of Elizabeth; son, Ross (Deborah) Greenwald Jr. of Jefferson, MD; grandchildren, Dr. Elizabeth A. Blank of Prince Frederick, MD, Kaylan (Michael) Shen of Henrico, VA, Erin M. Greenwald of Jefferson, MD, PSP Crpl. Adam (Nicole) Reed of Mechanicsburg, and Amanda L. Reed of Mars; sister, Grace Celestino of West Elizabeth; brother, Duane Lloyd of West Elizabeth; sisters-in-law, Ina Claire Lloyd and Ruth Greenwald, both of Jefferson Hills; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Rush and Ruth Weightman, and brother, Harry "Buzz" Lloyd. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Floyd Hughes officiating. Private interment at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
