Arthur J. Nicolette, 93 of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday March 16, 2016. He was born August 22, 1922 in North Huntingdon, a son of the late Jack and Mary (Chicanello) Nicolette and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude (Murphy) Nicolette, a son Lawrence Nicolette, a daughter Sheryl Bonnett, and siblings, Margaret, Dan, Clarence, and Ray Nicolette. He retired after thirty six years’ service with A & M Foodland, Irwin. Arthur was a WWII veteran serving with the Army in the European Theatre of Operations and participated in the Battle of the Bulge as a Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne paratroopers.

He was a member of Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon and an Elder. He is survived by his wife of forty three years, Virginia (Watson) Nicolette; children, Arthur E. (Beverly) Nicolette of Irwin, David (Donna) Nicolette of Lawrenceburg, KY, Edward (Patti) Nicolette of Claridge, Kathi (Brent) Halvorsen of Sarasota, FL, Lori Bierbower of Jeannette, and Tami Perevuznik (Jim McHarg) of Level Green; daughter in law, Marie Nicolette of Jeannette; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; siblings, Roy Nicolette and Ruth Shuster; also nieces and nephews. At Arthur’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 2, 2016 in Ardara Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 3380 Nehrig Hill Rd., Ardara, with Rev.
