Rose Campbell, age 88, of Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth, formerly of Christy Park, died March 23, 2016, at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. Born September 27, 1927, in Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Grace (Primerana) Costa and the wife of the late William Campbell for 60 loving years.

Rose retired from the McKeesport Area School District, where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the St. Patrick Parish, Christian Mother’s and the Christy Park Seniors. She enjoyed growing flowers and her own vegetables for cooking Sunday dinner, Holiday meals and for family gatherings. Rose loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

She is survived by Marcia (Jim) Flannick of Beaver, Cathy (Paul) Pollock of Versailles Borough and Denise (Bob) Comisak New Alexandria; grandchildren, Jamie, Zachary (Meg), Jacob, Nicholas, Gabrielle (Michael), Alexander, and Carly; great grandchildren, Oliver, Sawyer, Leo, Mia and Gemma; sisters, Millie Davis of north Huntingdon and Theresa (Jack) Fry of Youngwood; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by a great grandson, Rocco; brothers, Sam and Carmen Costa.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, March 26, 2016, from 4 – 8 p.m. and Monday, March 28, 2016, from 9 - 9 :30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 10 a.m., at St. Patrick Parish. Fr. Vincent Velas will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
Rose’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you, to the staff at Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth and Gateway Hospice, for their kind and compassionate care.
