Joseph L. Madden, Jr. 89, of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in Jefferson Hospital.  He was a retired expediter for U.S. Steel's Irvin Works in West Mifflin; worked later in life at Shop'n'Save; and was a Navy veteran of World War II. 

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the Lions Club, Sons of Columbus Santa Maria Council #4, American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 and former Irish Club, all in Clairton and V.F.W. Post #803 in Wilson. Born November 20, 1926 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Joseph L. Madden, Sr. and Catherine (Gibney) Madden and husband of the late Judith A. (Carson) Madden. Joseph is survived by a daughter, Colette (Dom) Paluti of Clairton; son, Daniel (Kimmi) Madden of Clairton; grandchildren, Danielle (Travis) Paluti, Erica Paluti, Daniel Joseph Madden, Jr. and Kadi Madden; great grandchildren, Domenic Paluti and Leonardo Paluti; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, John "Jack", Robert, Thomas and Richard Madden, Eileen Wilson and Jean. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 Fifth Street, Clairton, PA 15025 (412/233-5700) on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:00 AM in St. Clare Parish. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
