Herbert “Herb” P. Vickers, age 81, of Port Vue, died March 3, 2020, at UPMC McKeesport. Born February 6, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Roy and Anna Margaret Vickers and the beloved husband of Marie (Benoit) Vickers for 55 years.
Herb worked as a milkman for Menzie Dairy and then drove a gasoline tanker for R & W Oil Products. He was a member of the Glassport American Legion Post 443 and active with the Port Vue Athletic Association as a coach for his sons and also as past Vice President.
He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan but especially loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. He always had a joke to tell his family and friends. In addition to his wife Marie, he is survived by sons, Ron Vickers, of North Huntingdon, Dean Vickers, of Port Vue, and Tim (Shelly) Vickers, of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Matt, Deana, Brandon, Tiffany, Connor, Lance, and Lia Vickers; brothers, Albert and Roy Vickers, and sister, Anna Margaret Harrison. He was also preceded in death by grandson, Dominic; brothers, William and Vincent Vickers, and sister, Jean. Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
