Matthew T. Bauman, age 36, of Port Vue, died at home on October 14, 2020.  Born August 16, 1984, in McKeesport, he was the son of Tom and Pam (Torbic) Bauman, and the loving husband of Samantha (Humanic) Bauman.  Matthew was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he obtained his undergraduate degree in History Education.  After Penn State, he went on to Duquesne University, where he received his Master's Degree in Public History.

Matthew was an 11th and 12th-grade History Teacher at McKeesport Area High School and served on the Board of Directors of the McKeesport Regional History and Heritage Center as Vice President.  He was an Eagle Scout and loved being outdoors, hiking the Laurel Highlands Trail, or going to his family camp in Kittanning.  He enjoyed cooking for his family and was known for his ribs and the secret recipe he used.  His most cherished memories were traveling with his wife and sons.  In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Jack and Theo; brother, Zach (Debra) Bauman; niece, Isabella; brother, Ben (Valerie Bordogna) Bauman;  mother and father-in-law, Roxanne and Jim Humanic; sister-in-law, Jessica (Ray) Kovacs, and Goddaughter, Ellie Kovacs.  He was preceded in death by Goddaughter, Alexandra Kovacs.  A private memorial service was held at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com  Chris Odasso, Owner
