Michael D. Smith, age 64, of Pittsburgh, died December 20, 2020, at UPMC Shadyside. Born May 8, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late David William and Nellie Renee (Mixon) Smith.
Michael worked at many different places up until his disability would no longer allow him to work. He volunteered at the Chain of Hope of Pittsburgh, where he was a cook and always there to lend a hand. Michael enjoyed walking, whistling his favorite tunes, and especially loved his grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his children, Sherida Smith, Miguel Smith, Michael Yellet, Antonio Smith, and Mark Martin, all of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Michael, Kaliyah, Isaiah, Sabrina, Alika, Antonio Jr., Maurice, Ethan, Kaleigh, Chelsea, and Mason; great-grandchildren, Zariah, Mykila, Almi, and Promise; siblings, Cindy Smith, Josie Smith-Bryant, Matt Smith, and Jim Smith; also many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Michael was also preceded in death by siblings, Keith, Kevin, David, and Pamela Smith.
Arrangements were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory.
