Gerald “Jerry” K. Madeira, age 75, of Irwin, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016. He was born January 26, 1941 in Grapeville, a son of the late Claude and Irene (Smith) Madeira. He retired after a long career as a truck driver and last drove for Hitman Transportation for over 17 years as an owner operator. He was a generous person that enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and vacationing in Daytona, Florida.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years Ruth E. (Neidigh) Maderia; sons Scott (Jean) Madeira of Cranberry Township and Kip Madeira of Harrison City; grandchildren Nick, John and Chris; brother Gary (Kim) Madeira of Irwin; nephew Mark (Brooke) Madeira and niece Kelsey Madeira. Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200 where everyone will gather at 11 a.m. Monday for a funeral service with Pastor Jim Townson officiating.
