Etna Jean Riley, 94, of Liberty Borough died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 9, 2021. Etna called Jean by all her family and friends, was born in Duquesne on April 2, 1927 and is the daughter of the late Charles Bruce Shaffer and Etna Thompson Shaffer. Jean worked as a bookkeeper in the banking industry until she was 80 years old. Jean attended art school and also trained to be an air traffic controller. She was a champion duck pin bowler and loved spending time with her family, entertaining everyone with her sense of humor, unique sense of style, Texas sheet cake, and a glass of wine.

She is survived by her son, Luke (Dawn) Riley of Liberty Borough, grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) McClelland of Liberty Borough, Luke Riley, IV of Liberty Borough, and Heather (Tim) Hibner of Belle Vernon, great grandchildren, Colby and Paisley Hibner, and Keegan and Kenna McClelland, as well as many other adored nieces and nephews.

A family gathering was held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Burial followed.
