Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | August 13, 2021

Gail (Bobich) Pristera, 79, formerly of North Versailles Twp., passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Kissimmee, Florida.

Gail was born December 2, 1941, in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late George Bobich and Mary Cvihanovich. Gail was the loving mother of, and is survived by, her children Lisa Saunders, Lori Pristera, Richard Pristera, Leslie (Preston) Pristera-Lee. She was a doting grandmother to Dylan Zayonc, Daniel Molina, Gabrielle Pristera, Morgan Molina, Madison Pristera, Duvall Lee, Shakari Lee, and Great-Grandmother to Ryker Zayonc. Gail was the devoted sister to Wayne (Pauline) Bobich, Marie DiNardo, Gina (Larry) Leo, and Michael (Jane) Mikulich. She was the caring Godmother to Jennifer Calabrese and a loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Gail will be greeted in Heaven by her parents, her daughter, Darlene Pristera, her grandson, Jason Sachs, many beloved family members, and all her sassy but loyal dogs.

In 1967, Gail moved from North Versailles to Fort Allen in Greensburg, where she raised her four children for 18 years before moving to Philadelphia. From there, she found her way to sunny Florida, where she has spent the last 30 years. Her Kissimmee neighbors knew her well and loved her dearly. She was a friend to all and a surrogate grandmother to many.

Gail loved nothing more than watching her favorite teams play! With her son Rich, she was an avid Phillies baseball fan, with her daughter Lisa, she celebrated her favorite tennis player, Novak Djokovic, and with all her children, she cheered on her beloved Steelers!  Her Steelers’ texts were infamous, full of either expletives or an overabundance of exclamation marks and emoji’s!

Gail was a relentless board game player with Yahtzee skills second to none. She was highly competitive and provided hours of entertainment for everyone. She also relished her late night game play on her mini Ms. Pac-Man machine. Her poker skills were fierce and there was not a weekend night at 14 Shawnee Drive that there wasn’t a table full of card players and Motown music blasting on the record player.

Gail enjoyed keeping those around her on their toes and did so until she was called Home. She lived and loved beautifully and will be dearly missed by many.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 15, from 4-8 p.m. at Alfieri Funeral Home, 201 Marguerite Ave, Wilmerding, PA 15148, 412-824-4332. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11am, with Fr. Stephan Djoric officiating. Gail will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.
