Dorothy E. Barfield, age 94, of North Versailles, died on Sunday, October 10, 2021. She was born in Wilson on April 6, 1927 and is the daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Marguerite Keenist Porter. She was the wife of the late Herman “Jack” Barfield. She retired in 1987 from 30 years of service with the Sears Department Store catalogue

She is survived by her son, Jack Barfield of Versailles Borough; brother, Eugene (Judy) Porter of Elizabeth; nieces and nephews, Leslie, Melanie, Beverly, John, Harry, Kenneth, Caroline, Michael, Michelle, Bonnie, and May, and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Nelson Porter, Kenneth Porter, Pearl Adam; niece and nephews, Beverly, Augie, and Kenneth.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021 at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412 678 6177) from 11:00 until 1:00 p.m. when services will be held. Burial will follow.

The family and our team members appreciate that all visitors follow appropriate guidelines of social distancing and wearing of masks if not fully vaccinated. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The family also wants everyone to know that they completely understand if anyone is not comfortable with visiting and paying their respects during this time.
