Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | July 12, 2022
Janet C. Zosack, age 70, of White Oak died July 10, 2022, at Allegheny Health Network Forbes Hospital in Monroeville. Born April 22, 1952, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte (Slaney) Carr and the granddaughter of the late Lottie (Fossett) Slaney.
After graduating from McKeesport Senior High School in 1970, Janet went on to work as a secretary for several major accounting firms in San Francisco and Pittsburgh. She stepped away from the field in 1982 to take on the role of a devoted mother and wife, which she considered to be her proudest achievement. Janet returned to the workforce in the mid-90’s and spent 20 years working for the McKeesport Area School District in a variety of instructional support and technology-related roles. She retired in June 2015.
Following retirement, Janet enjoyed using her exceptional graphic design talents to create beautiful projects for family and friends. She continued to volunteer throughout the town and with the McKeesport School District with events such as the Founders Hall musicals. Janet also was a proud volunteer for the "McKeesport Festival of Trees" in Renzie Park. However, her favorite way to spend her time was with her loving family.
Janet is survived by her husband, David T. Zosack of White Oak; son Craig (Bryan) Zosack of White Oak; and daughter Carrie (Jonathan) Jaboor of New York, New York.
Family and friends will be received in the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
