Donald L. Nystrom, 97, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Saturday, January 17 at Asbury Place in Mt. Lebanon, PA. Don was born in Braddock, PA on November 28, 1928, to Clarence and Thursa Nystrom. He was a Pattern Maker at Westinghouse Airbrake where he met and married his lovely wife, Gerry. He and Gerry enjoyed going out for daily drives, dining out and shopping together. Don was a good athlete playing on his high school basketball team. He later enjoyed playing and watching golf and was an avid fan of the Pitt Panthers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He was known to have a great sense of humor and always had a smile, never one to get angry. He also built dollhouses for several of his family members. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Brickel) and sister Jean Lundahl. He is survived by nephews Paul (Claudia) Lundahl, Dr. Robert (Kim) Lundahl, Barry (Tracy) Brickel and nieces Marcy (Charlie) Campbell, Kelly (David) Burda, Dorian Dinsmore. There will be a private burial at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the healthcare team at Asbury Place Memory Care for their excellent care and love they showed to Don as well as the caring staff with Gentiva Hospice.
