Hermina Martha “Margie” Speidel, age 100, of Greenock, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, leaving behind a century of love, strength, and cherished memories. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 22, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Edward and Alexandria Von Wolwark Sivik. She was the wife of the late Robert A. Speidel, Sr.
Margie was an active and cherished member of the former St. Denis Parish in Versailles (now Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church), where she found community and spiritual comfort.
Margie lived a long and meaningful life, defined by her kindness, her steady presence, and the deep affection she held for her family and friends. She was the heart of her family – gentle, wise, and always ready with a warm smile or a comforting word. Her legacy is woven into the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Margie is survived by her children Karen (David, Sr.) Sherer of White Oak, PA; and Rick (Marijo) Speidel of Greenock.
Margie was a proud grandmother to Dana (TJ) Murphy; David (Carissa) Sherer, Jr.; Jodi Sherer; and Carly Sherer.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Joel) Bianco; Ryan Murphy; and Levi Sherer.
Her love extended into another generation with her great-great grandchildren, Aurora; and Ryder Bianco, who brought her immense joy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Margie was preceded in death by her children, Robert A. Speidel, Jr.; Kathy Speidel; Cindy Speidel; and siblings, Victor; Edward; Henrietta; Florence; Pauline; Jenny; and Helen, who she now joins in eternal rest.
Margie’s memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Margie’s memory on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). Services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Fagin officiating. A burial will follow.
