Cheryl A. Young, 55, of North Versailles, died Monday June 27, 2016. She was born December 8, 1960 in McKeesport, a daughter of Irene (Mellon) Young of North Versailles and the late R. Glen Young. Cheryl was an employee of Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh. Her passion was theatre. She acted, directed, and served as stage manager, often providing props. She was formerly active with the New Group Theatre. She will be remembered for her unforgettable smile and beautiful soul.

She was a member and former deacon at Linway United Presbyterian Church, North Versailles. In addition to her mother she is survived by her sister Karen Y. (Jeremy) Ewing of Plum; her brother Glen R. (Stephanie) Young of North Versailles; nephews and niece Zachary, Abigail, and Jacob Young; and her faithful companion Snoopy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Linway United Presbyterian Church, 600 Greensburg Ave., North Versailles, PA 15137, with Rev. Eric E. Dennis, officiating. Those attending please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
