Ruth Snodgrass, age 85, of Dravosburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was born in McKeesport, PA on September 17, 1940 and was the daughter of the late August and Arletta Carr Kohl. While Ruth was raising her children, she was employed at Hickory Farms in Century III Mall and People’s Bank. She later retired to babysit her grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies, including putting photo albums together for her family, planting many gardens around her home, and sneaking off to the casino to play penny slots. Ruth was also famous for her delicious, homemade pies.
Ruth is survived by her husband, William J. Snodgrass, Sr.; children, William J. (Judi) Snodgrass, Jr. of Dravosburg, PA; Bryan H. (Karen) Snodgrass of South Park Twp., PA; Beth Buzzelli of Peters Twp., PA; grandchildren, Caitlin (Mike) Sostaric; Kylie (Evan) Wielgoleski; Alyssa (Justin) Minda; Jacob Snodgrass; Connor Buzzelli; Maxwell Buzelli; Garrett Buzzelli; Jordon Como; Tyler Como; Sarah Como; great-grandchildren, Mia Sostaric; Michael Sostaric; Callan Wielgoleski; Charlie Wielgoleski; Josie Minda; son-in-law, David Gerard (Lynn) Como of South Park Twp., PA; Lynn’s children, Jack Tumas; Ryan Tumas; Cole Tumas; and many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia “Trish” Jean Como; and siblings, Donald (the late Patricia) Kohl; Russell Kohl; Shirley Kohl Bush Exline; and Sandra Jean Kohl Jones.
Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Ruth’s memory on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Strifflers of Dravosburg/West Mifflin, Inc., 740 Pittsburgh McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg, PA 15034 (412-678-6192). Services, officiated by Pastor Melissa Morris, will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Amity Presbyterian Church, 400 Euclid Avenue, Dravosburg, PA 15034. A burial will follow at Richland Cemetery in Dravosburg, PA.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s name to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, located at UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
