Diane C. Lieb, age 64, of Liberty Borough, died on August 27, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born October 17, 1960, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ida (Carrozza) Foster.
Diane dedicated a significant part of her life to her role as a unit secretary and later, as a scheduling coordinator for the South Hills Orthopedic Surgery Associates. Her diligence and kindness in the health care field were a testament to her desire to help others, showcasing her compassionate nature.
An ardent lover of crafts, Diane found joy in creating beautiful pieces that reflected her vibrant personality. She also loved gardening and expressing her personality and passion with her colorful choices of plants and flowers. After a long day of gardening, she relaxed by taking a joyride in her Mazda Miata, followed by a glass of red wine. Her creative spirit shone brightly at the family camp at Mountain Pines Campground, a place where she forged lasting friendships and cherished memories. Diane believed that BALANCE was the key to creating a happy life. However, what brought her the greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who filled her life with immense happiness and love.

John R. Kimmell, age 74, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Emma Kimmell. He is survived by his son, Cameron Kimmell and wife Kelly (Allen) Kimmell and grandson Tyler Kimmell. He is also survived by his brother, James Kimmell and wife Gail (Carver) Kimmell and nephews James and Todd Kimmell. John grew up in Irwin and attended Norwin High School before going to Pitt at Greensburg. In 1978 he married Susan Babyak. The family moved to Stahlstown in 1984 to realize their dream of horse ownership. He was active in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Donegal, and worked as a paralegal at Lieber and Hammer LLC until his death. John had a kind heart, and he loved people. He was always willing to help. John was also a jack of all trades with electrical, plumbing, car repairs, and even horse shoeing. He had a smile that would light up a room and a booming laugh that you couldn't ignore. He will be sorely missed. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, on Thursday from 3-7 PM. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11 AM with interment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Beverly Schott, age 78 of North Huntingdon, passed away on August 26, 2025 at Hempfield Manor. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Greensburg. Beverly was a member of St. Agnes Church in North Huntingdon. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for the Norwin School District in the business office. Following her retirement, Beverly volunteered at Redstone Highlands in North Huntingdon, where she taught hand-crafts and ran the gift shop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael, and one brother, Jim. She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul C. Schott, one son Paul A. Linda L. Beck, age 75 of Greensboro, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 in WVU Health Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Born January 6, 1950 in Canonsburg, she was a daughter of the late James Walter Beck and Nellie Opal (Frum) Beck. A graduate of the Pittsburgh Beauty Academy and employed at the Liberty Candy Co. for more than 20 years, Linda enjoyed roller skating in her younger years and loved to crochet, play bingo, do jigsaw puzzles, observe butterflies and wildlife outside of her home, feed the hummingbirds that would visit, and root on the Steelers. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her family. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Linda is survived by her daughter Kimmi (Douglas) Graboski of McKeesport; her grandchildren Sara (Nathan) Burnau of San Diego, CA and Nathan (Cassidy Chappell) of McKeesport; her great-grandchildren Bodhi and Sebastian; her sister Karen (Bob) Kelly of Greensboro; and also many nieces and nephews. Lynda Gail "GG" Gantt, 75, of Elizabeth Township passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in McKeesport on November 25, 1949 to the late Clyde and June (McLean) Howell. "Gantt" as most people called her during her career, worked for 40+ years at US Steel in the Accounts Payable department. She created life-long friends, who eventually became family, with endless memories. Even after retirement and up until just recently, they would all get together to catch up and grab lunch. The best way to describe Gantt is... "fast cars & loud music - she was a rocker." Alma Ann Hoffman, 74, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born February 4, 1951 and grew up in Clairton and was the daughter of the late Daniel C. and Alma R. (Thompson) McCormick. She was the wife of 40 years to the late Dale Robert Hoffman, who passed away September 7, 2010. Alma was a member and one of the founders of New Hope Assembly of God, in Elizabeth Township and had recently been attending Friendship Community Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh with her second husband, Jack. Alma was a graduate of Clairton High school. Alongside her first husband Dale, she founded many businesses in our area including Duquesne House Personal Care Home, Cornerstone Day Care, Riverview Personal Care, Fallen Timber Stables and was proprietor of Senior Care Plaza in McKeesport. Most importantly, Alma was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Raymond A. Heckman, age 78, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 at home. He retired from the shipping and receiving department of Gardner Denver in Elizabeth. He was a member of the Elizabeth Twp. Sportsmen’s Association and he loved to ride his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking, boating and jet skiing, and he liked to get his hands dirty gardening. Born January 21, 1947 in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Richard and Cathryn (Dusi) Heckman. He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Frank J. Kwolek, age 93, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of Glassport, beloved husband of Gail (Hartland) Kwolek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Born on February 16, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Viola (Merta) Kwolek. After serving his country honorably during the Korean War, he graduated from Alliance College and also earned a Master’s Degree at Duquesne University. He taught at Our Lady of Grace, Southside Catholic, and also became an Occupational Assessment Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Holy Name Society, the PNA in Glassport, the Mon Yough Trail Council, Port Vue Oldtimers Softball League, Half Fast Golf Team and the McKeesport Regional History & Heritage Center. He was an avid bicyclist and an outdoor enthusiast, enjoyed fishing and especially camping with his wife Gail across the United States. In his leisure time, he enjoyed sharing his carpentry skills with family and friends. He is survived by brother Thomas (Sue) Kwolek of Palo Alto, CA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, John, Patrick Anthony, Edward (Helen) and Joseph (Betty) Kwolek, Thelma (Frank) Spanbauer, Sr. M. Thomas C. Granny, age 67 of Irwin, passed away on August 22, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1958 in Braddock, a son of Patricia McGarrity Granny and the late David Granny. Tom was a graduate of Norwin High School in the class of 1976. He was a talented mechanic and fulfilled a career at Kenny Ross Automotive. Tom had a passion for restoring old cars and he was known as a jack-of-all-trades who loved to work around the house. In his free time, he always looked forward to camping, especially at Big Bear Lake. In addition to his father, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Doug Granny.
