Margaret Mary Steinberg, 92, of Baden, PA passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born in Allegheny County on November 27, 1932 to the late Steve and Sophie (Olasian) Obertance. She was the wife to the late Murry W. Steinberg, Sr., before his passing on July 29, 2008. She worked many years as a Nurse Anesthetist at the North Hills Passavant, now known as UPMC Passavant Hospital. Margaret is survived by her son, Murray W. Steinberg, Jr., of Baden, PA; her sister, Catherine Moxie; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Charles Obertance. Bill was a devoted husband, loving father of his “three Pry girls”, cherished grandfather and friend who was a true family man. Johanne G. Ranchik, 88, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025. She was born May 25, 1936 and raised in Perryopolis, she was the daughter of the late Anna Timko (the late Steve) Wysocki and raised by her grandparents, the late John and Anna Timko. She wife of the late James Robert Ranchik, who passed away August 10, 2017. Johanne was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish and attended the St. Michael Church and was also a member of the Elizabeth Twp. Seniors. She was an avid reader and loved to read Western Romances. She was an avid bird watcher and loved her hummingbirds, cardinals and other birds who visited her. She loved going out for tacos and margaritas.

Geraldine "Geri" Alderson Cochran, age 100 of Clairton, passed away at home with her loving daughter by her side on Friday, March 28, 2025. Born December 31, 1924 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late David A. and Virgie M. (Haywood) Brown. A member of the former First United Methodist Church and later Pine Run United Methodist Church, both of Clairton, Geraldine worked various jobs around town, including writing the society page at the former Clairton Progress and teaching cake decoration for adult education at CCAC South. She was also an active member of both the Women's Auxiliary in Wilson, as a Democratic Committeewoman, and the Democratic Women's Guild. Besides her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by both of her husbands, the late William D. Alderson, Sr. and Daniel A. Cochran, Sr.; her son Robert Alderson; a grandson Joseph W. Bartolomeo; and her siblings David C. Brown and Lily Walter. James E. "Jim" Linn, Sr., 86, of Dravosburg passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was born at home in Mifflin Township, now West Mifflin, on August 26, 1938 to the late Paul Linn, Sr., and the late Dorothy (Beam) Linn. Jim was the owner of ESSO Service Station in Dravosburg before working for Lampl Construction with Teamsters Local #373 as a truck driver. Eventually, Jim joined the Laborers Union #1058 as a laborer, paving roads for various highway projects. He worked as a laborer for the union until his retirement in May 1997. He was very proud to be a life member of Dravosburg Fire Dept. #1, as well as a member on the Richland Cemetery Board, and part of the Dravosburg Archives. He took very good care of his beloved 1931 Model A Ford, and was always working with his hands. Alongside his dad, Paul, his Uncle Don Beam, and his father-in-law, Red, they built a cabin in Indian Head, PA, which continues to be used as a family cabin for his boys, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After retirement, his garage became a gathering place - "the shed" as he called it would hold court. Friends, family and neighbors were often caught bringing furniture and good conversation to the shed while refurbishing anything brought his way. Furniture- mainly park benches, was his specialty. Regardless of what he was doing, the door was always open if the red light was on.

Grace Lea Mastro, 89, of North Huntingdon, died March 28, 2025, at her home. Born December 13, 1935, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late E. Lester and Mary Frances (Moritz) Dawson. It is said that, "What we are speaks louder than what we say." Grace gave meaning to this by her leadership through example. Grace was a nurse for the Air Force Reserves on active duty from 1960-66 and then resigned her commission in 1972. She was a retired registered nurse, spending 30 years with the Visiting Nurse Association of Irwin and Jeannette. As a member of the Norwin Lioness and the Lion Club since 1985, she served as president, treasurer and in many other capacities. Her nursing experience carried over into her Lion Club activities doing blood work and drives for Lions Care-Van from 1979-88 and then as coordinator for St Agnes blood drives. She served as parish nurse for the Ministry of Care from 1982-21. Grace was a volunteer with the food bank program since 1982, Meals on Wheels since 1996. She also volunteered with Radio Information Service (RIS), since 1996, this station broadcasts to the blind. Grace was also active in Markvue Manor Women's Club for 30 years and assisted in Habitat for Humanity fundraising projects. She was a beacon for dedicated humanitarian service. Grace is survived by her husband of 56 years, Anthony Mastro and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her sister, Carolyn Dawson Fuller (2005) and brother David Dawson (2023). Thank you to UPMC Hospice program especially, nurses Jen, Sonja, and Kelly. They provided the best of services. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, from 4-6 PM at the James W. Leo Edward Kwiecinski, 73, of North Huntingdon, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in Forbes Hospital having fought a courageous battle with heart disease. He was born September 13, 1951 in McKeesport, PA, son of the late Sylvester Paul Kwiecinski and Rosina Marie (Schiavo) Kwiecinski. Leo was a loving and generous husband, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all. He was an avid life-long Steeler fan and never missed a game, always watching them live from his living room. He loved sports of all kinds, especially fishing and was happy to share equipment and techniques with kids who wanted to learn. The PA Lottery and casino slots were some of his favorite pastimes as well. Leo was proud of his 45 years as a machinist and journeyman tool and die maker and enjoyed teaching others his craft and staying current on the newest machines. Leo is survived by his loving wife and partner of 50 years, Mary Barbara Williams, sister Rose Ann Kwiecinski, brother Paul Joseph (Sandy Rymarchyk) Kwiecinski, many brothers-in-law and sisters-law, and many nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Kimberly Anne Forbes-Bartko, age 62 of North Huntingdon, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2025. She was born on January 18, 1963 near Santa Monica, California, a daughter of Sondra Dugan and the late Ronald Forbes. Kim was a graduate of Norwin High School. She is a follower of Christ who loves the Lord and is now with the Lord. She was well-known as a bartender at various local bars. Kim enjoyed gardening, attending concerts, vacationing at the beach, fashion, and spending time at the area's wineries. Kim had a creative mind and she loved to create art. In her free time, she looked forward to working on her own inventions, once even receiving a patent. Most of all, Kim cherished the time she spent with her friends and family. In addition to her father, Kim was preceded in death by one brother, Scott Hredocik. She is survived by one son Michael, two daughters Kennedy Forbes-Nicholas and Legacy Forbes-Tanney, two brothers Jeffrey Forbes (and wife Anny) and Kristofer Rainey, and two sisters Melissa Hredocik and Tara Rainey (and husband Jimmy). Karen J. Mohan, age 67 of North Huntingdon, passed away on March 26, 2025 after a short but courageous fight with cancer. She was born on June 28, 1957 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Richard Shidel Sr. and Mary Jo Shidel. Prior to her retirement, Karen was employed for 31 years by the Fairmont-Hahntown Volunteer Fire Department Social Club, many of those years having served as the co-manager. She was known for her elaborate holiday decorations, especially when it came to Halloween and Christmas. Karen became a master of the iPhone camera and she especially enjoyed taking photos of camp-fires, sunrises, and sunsets. She always looked forward to traveling and shopping, but most of all she loved her life and cherished the time she spent with her family. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by one son Brandon Schmeltz and one sister Lee Ann Shidel. Mary Ann (Voyten) Valentovish, of Duquesne, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 24, 2025. Born on September 10, 1937 in Mount Pleasant PA, she lived life to its fullest in her 87 years. She was married for 59 years to her beloved husband and best friend, Eugene “Gene” Valentovish, who passed away in 2014. Together, they created a home where laughter and love thrived, and everyone was welcome. When diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 13 months ago, she faced each day with the same strength, faith and optimism she was known for all her life, considering every additional moment with her cherished family a gift from God.
She was involved in many activities over the years that focused on her faith and family. She took great pride in everything she did and always showed compassion. After raising her 5 children, she attended Community College of Allegheny County and became a medical secretary. During her 30 years with UPMC Shadyside Ambulatory Surgical Unit, she never missed a day of work and looked forward to helping patients and families.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Nana" to many, she cheered everyone on, offering unconditional love, encouragement and even pretzel jello. Throughout her life, even in her final days, she rarely missed a grandchild’s sporting event, concert or dance recital, often traveling through multiple states on the same day to attend all.
She is survived by her children: Glory (Alan) Koerbel, Kathleen (Gerald) Potter, Kristin (Thomas) Legin, Lisa Valentovish, and Gregg (Shelly Seanor) Valentovish. Also surviving are her precious grandchildren: Jordan Potter, Ashley (Kyle) Steinour, Allison Koerbel, Joseph Legin and Breana, Bayden and Bryson Valentovish; loving brother, Frankie (Janet) Voyten, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary (Borza) Voyten, her in-laws, Leon and Hattie (Marosz) Valentovish, brother, Charles Voyten and his wife, Stephanie (Kundrat).
Family and friends will be received Saturday, March 29th from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Sunday, March 30th from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the
