Robert L. Raymer

By Wojciechowski Funeral Home | Posted in: Wojciechowski Funeral Home

Robert (Bob) L. Raymer, 71, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, surrounded by the family he so deeply loved.  Born on March 24, 1954, in his family home in Liberty Boro, Pennsylvania, Bob was the beloved son of the late Robert and Shirley Raymer. He is survived by his two sisters: Pat Macchiarolo (Mike Macchiarolo) and their children Christopher, Peter, and Rie; and Sherri Waugh (the late Gerry Waugh) and their children Monte and Lyle.  Bob also leaves behind his former wife, Peggy Wagner, and their three children: Jessica Murray (Austin), Jeremy Raymer, and Luke Raymer (Lauren Kyle). He was the proud grandfather of five adoring grandchildren: Finnegan, Sullivan, and Emerson Murray, and Ford and Vada Raymer.  Bob was a man of immense talent and passion, whose creativity touched every part of his life. After completing a four-year apprenticeship, he became a journeyman carpenter, mastering the art of woodworking. With a love for antiques and a remarkable eye for detail, he became highly skilled in restoring antique furniture—buying, refinishing, and selling countless treasured pieces. His craftsmanship extended to the restoration of a 200-year-old farmhouse, which he lovingly transformed into a colonial home filled with history and charm, where he lived with his family. Later in life, Bob discovered a new calling in energy work and intuitive healing. He moved to California, where he spent 16 years helping and healing others—transforming lives in ways that many of his clients will never forget. Bob had a deep love for good music, delicious food, beekeeping, raising chickens, antiques, thunderstorms, and above all else, his children and grandchildren. His pride in their accomplishments was unwavering, and he found endless joy in their stories and successes. He lived life on his own terms—simply, authentically, and always with an appreciation for nature and the beauty in the world around him. Bob himself was truly one of a kind. His vibrant smile, infectious laugh, and the love he shared with those around him will be forever remembered. His loss leaves a void that can never be filled. May he rest in eternal peace and continue to watch over the family he so deeply loved. Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Sara Margaret Sproul

July 17, 2025 |

By Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory | Posted in: Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory

Sara Margaret Sproul peacefully left this world on July 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 9, 1939, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Sara grew up in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, where she graduated as the Salutatorian of her class at Glassport High School in 1957. She later earned her degree in accounting with honors from Tidewater Community College, a testament to her lifelong dedication to learning and excellence.

Sara built a remarkable career as a controller in accounting, working in the field for more than 45 years. She was known for her integrity, precision, and unwavering work ethic.

To know Sara was to love her. She was one of the kindest souls you could ever meet and never knew a stranger. With a warm heart and generous spirit, she touched the lives of everyone around her.

Sara had a passion for life’s simple joys — she loved baking, the Outer Banks in North Carolina, gardening, and cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh and Penn State sports teams. Whether it was the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, or Nittany Lions, you could always find her tuned in and cheering them on. Her top sports memory was attending Super Bowl XL in Detroit, Michigan, where she watched the Pittsburgh Steelers win — an experience she cherished deeply.

Sara also found joy and peace in writing poetry, and her strong faith was a guiding light she carried with grace throughout her life. She had a special love for cardinals, often seeing them as comforting signs from above.

Baking was one of her greatest joys — she made cookies year-round and you could always count on her to know everyone’s favorites. But at Christmas, she brought out her signature nut rolls, a beloved holiday tradition that was as special as the season itself. Her warmth and generosity came through in every batch, making those around her feel loved and at home.

Above all, Sara loved her family and friends deeply and unconditionally.
