Faith Ann Ferree, age 92, of Glassport, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Born April 9, 1933 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Hobart McKinley and Clara (Schneider) Ferree. She is survived by a brother, Alvin L. Ferree of Jefferson Hills; also, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William James Ferree, William Newton Keene and Gwendolyn Robis. No visitation or services are planned. Mabette Wilson, age 91, of North Huntingdon died June 25, 2025 at UPMC East. She was born September 18,1933 in Larimer, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward and Irene Koelsch Berchtold. Prior to her retirement, Mabette was employed as a secretary for both Norwin High School and Sixth Street School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wilson in 2002, two sons, William E. Doernte and Dean Doernte, a brother, Edward F. Berchtold Jr., a sister Rita Conway. She is survived by one son Karl Lee Doertne, a daughter, Debra Mansfield numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be no public services.

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Edward “Ed” Vickovic on June 30, 2025, following a brief illness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ed was born in McKeesport Hospital on July 5, 1947, grew up in Duquesne and eventually moved to Dravosburg. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, Ed worked and retired from Bechtel Bettis, Inc. in Dravosburg.

Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, hunting and fishing. He also loved going to the casinos, playing the slot machines and enjoyed horse racing. Ed was also an active member of the NRA.

Ed is preceded in death by his father Adam Joseph “Specks” Vickovic, mother Elvira (Kasunic) Vickovic and brother Anthony Vickovic. He is survived by his sisters, Joanne of Duquesne, Judith (Allan) Nagel of Florida, Marie (late James) Ford of West Mifflin and brother, Tom of McKeesport. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

There will be a private family visitation and private burial in Holy Name Cemetery, West Mifflin, with Military Honors. Thorpe, 85, of Glasssport, died July 1, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late Consolato and Enes (Carlei) Sgroi and beloved wife of the late Earl Thorpe.  She is survived by her daughter Toni Lynn Thorpe; sister Joy (Michael) Turek; and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brothers Louis Sgroi and Anthony (the late Christine) Sgroi.  Lois was a cashier for Scozio's in Olympia Shopping Center for many years.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Monday 10:00 am in the funeral home with Father Tom Burke.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.

Chester Sliwoski, age 83 of North Huntingdon died June 30, 2025, at UPMC East. He was born May 13, 1942, in Export, Pa a son of the late Chester and Stella Halluck Sliwoski. Chester was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a factory worker in the field of manufacturing. He enjoyed grilling and cooking up his special barbeque sauce. Chester enjoyed spending time with his family most especially around holidays. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Zaberl Sliwoski, his daughter Stacie Sliwoski, two sisters in laws Agnes and Bonnie, several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Barbara A. Kapa, age 77, of White Oak, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in UPMC East. Born in Braddock on March 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late John Kudrec and Philomena (Owens) Huzdovich. She was a former beautician and liked antiquing and collecting anything old. 

She is the mother of Philomena Such of White Oak, Robert Bell of McKeesport and Tammy Coleman of White Oak; grandmother of Danielle, Joshua, Brandon, Steven, Amanda, Cheyanne & Dylan; numerous great grandchildren; and sister of Eugene Huzdovich of Munhall, Janet (late Stevie) Hudak of North Huntingdon, Noreen (late Norbert “Butch”) Aikman of Munhall, late John (late Ellie) Kudrec, late Dennis (late Debbie) Kudrec, and late Shirley Golofsky. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Geneva LaTay Cash passed away peacefully at McKeesport Hospital on June 21st, 2025. Geneva was born August 17, 1977, in McKeesport, Pa. She was the beloved daughter of Min. Emily Cash and the late Howard Robison. 

Geneva was a 1995 graduate of McKeesport High School. She then went on to receive her associate's degree in paralegal from Duffs Business Institute and her bachelor's degree from Point Park University. 

Geneva went on to work for Juvenile Court as a court clerk and then as a community supervisor for the Wilkinsburg CISP. She ended her career working for the University of Pittsburgh in their housekeeping dept. 

Geneva was loved by many, and she leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Min. Emily Cash, her children, Jah-Vasia Poindexter, Johnasia Cash, Dontasia, Dontae, and Deontae Allen-Cash, all of McKeesport. Her siblings Recole Cash, Dorcina Cash, Ta’Cora Rowe, all of McKeesport. William T. H. Cash and Lori Cash of Raleigh, NC, Kameico Robison of Swissvale, Pa, and Carmella Collier of Cedartown, GA

Brenda Howard, of McKeesport, PA was born July 27, 1963, in Summerton, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Maxine Howard and Jetter Williams Jr.

Brenda was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Clairton High school. For many years, she was employed at Riverside Care Center in McKeesport. Brenda enjoyed shopping, listening to music, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Brenda departed this life on June 21, 2025, at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Dajanai Crenshaw and Brandon E. Thomas.

Girovsky, 82, of McKeesport, died June 27, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late David and Helen (Wozniak) Obrosky and wife of the late Michael Semko and the late Michael Girovsky.  She is survived by her step son Robert (Jodi) Girovsky; granddaughter Melanie Girovsky; brother Larry (Elizabeth) Obrosky; niece Jennifer (Jim) McCalla; nephew Paul (Katie) Obrosky; and great niece Ashley McCalla.   Janice was a retired nurse’s aid for Riverside Nursing Home and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish.  Friends wil be received at the  Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Wed. from Noon to 2 pm, at which time a funeral blessing will be held.  Interment following St. Hedwig Cemetery.

The light in this world dimmed significantly for the Warden family on Saturday morning upon the passing of our beloved Mother/Meemaw/Gigi. Donna Ann Slack Warden, 88, from North Huntingdon, passed away on the morning of June 28, 2025 after suffering a debilitating stroke. She may not have ever won a trophy, or earned a fortune, or scaled a mountain but she showed us how to make the most of a life through her steadfastness, resilience, acceptance and love. And though she enjoyed playing bingo, Words with Friends, reading and sports, her devotion and energy was always to her family. Donna was a long-standing member of St. Agnes Church, and she served the community for several decades as a real estate agent for Norwin Agency. Preceding her in death are her husband of 69 years, Jon, an infant daughter Dawn Ann, four siblings, and a grandson, Alex Krivoniak. Surviving are her sister Marg Buck, her three children: Neal (Margie), Diane (Dan) Krivoniak, Al (Chris), Seven grandchildren: Lelia Warden, Martine (John) Krugh, Landon Warden, Shane Warden, Crista Krivoniak, Tyler (Jenny) Warden and Alexa Krivoniak, and five great-grandchildren Brynna, Lennon, Vance, Virginia and Sadie. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday July 1, 2025 with a viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St Agnes Church, Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in North Versailles.
