Cynthia K. (Canova) Giles, age 64, of Christy Park, passed away on July 14, 2022, at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh. She was born September 5, 1957, in McKeesport, and was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Virginia Canova, and wife of Michael R. Giles.
Cindy was a home maker who loved her family. She worked with local charities to help those in need.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Autumn Walsh, of Bethel Park, Joseph Belliconish, of White Oak, Kelli Lee, of Murrysville, and Michael Giles, of McKeesport; six grandchildren, Gabby, Jace, JJ, Miranda, Madelyne, and Montana; brothers, Anthony Canova, of Wexford and Samuel Canova.

Rosina M. Kwiecinski, age 92, of North Huntingdon, died July 18, 2022, at home. Born September 10, 1929, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Doria) Schiavo, and wife of the late Sylvester P. Kwiecinski.
Rosina was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, the Corpus Christi Christian Mothers and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of American #221, the Markvue Manor Women's Club, and Italian Club #57.

Janet C. Zosack, age 70, of White Oak died July 10, 2022, at Allegheny Health Network Forbes Hospital in Monroeville. Born April 22, 1952, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte (Slaney) Carr and the granddaughter of the late Lottie (Fossett) Slaney.
After graduating from McKeesport Senior High School in 1970, Janet went on to work as a secretary for several major accounting firms in San Francisco and Pittsburgh. She stepped away from the field in 1982 to take on the role of a devoted mother and wife, which she considered to be her proudest achievement. Janet returned to the workforce in the mid-90’s and spent 20 years working for the McKeesport Area School District in a variety of instructional support and technology-related roles. She retired in June 2015.

Robert W. "Bob" Pope, age 64, of Port Vue, died July 7, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport. Born January 29, 1958, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Samuel and Ruth (Hoak) Pope and the husband of Sheryl (Lopretto) Pope.
Bob retired from Tom Clark Chevrolet, where he was an auto body repair technician. He enjoyed fishing, hunting with his brother, sons, and daughter-in-law, and all things outdoors. Bob especially loved trips to Lake Erie for Walleye fishing. He spent Friday nights at the former Motordrome Speedway in his early years. Although, his greatest love was the time he spent with his grandchildren.

John M. Young, age 80, of White Oak, died July 8, 2022, at home. Born June 30, 1942, in Turtle Creek, he was the son of the late Clarence C. and Caroline M. (Zang) Young and the husband of the late Joyce (Rawson) Young.
John retired from the former Trafford Printing Co. Before that; he worked at Westinghouse, where he was a machinist until they closed. He also worked as a security guard at CCAC. John was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Trafford American Legion Post # 331. John was an avid golfer, although his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Kathy L. Nolder, age 58, of Port Vue, passed away July 2, 2022, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. Born May 12, 1964, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Bonnell) Mowery, sister-in-law to Marci Remensnyder, and the wife of Daniel J. Nolder.
Kathy worked for Dollar General as a District Training Manager at various locations until her health would no longer allow her. She was an avid craftswoman and thrift store shopper, enjoyed gardening, hot gluing gingerbread houses together with family, and baking mouth-watering confections items. Kathy fulfilled her adventurous side with trips to the beach, hiking at Hocking Hills, cheering at Pens games, going to concerts, and camping. She loved and adored all animals and left behind her beloved fur baby puppy "Molly," along with her fur baby cats, "Uncle Fester" and "Gomez."

Emil Ploskina, 89, of Liberty Boro, died on June 26, 2022, at the Kane Community Living Center.
Born on February 22, 1933, in Liberty Boro, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Zustulka) Ploskina.
Emil retired from Kennywood Amusement Park in the Maintenance Department. He was a member of the Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church.
Emil enjoyed Polka music and playing the harmonica. In his early years, he used to love going to the boat races in McKeesport with his brothers.
Emil is survived by his nieces and nephews; Gary (Debbie) Ploskina, Tommy (Maria) Ploskina, Janice (the late Jim) Kass, Gloria Ploskina, Gregory (Lisa) Ploskina, Cindy (the late Manny) Stoupis, Michael (Irene) Ploskina, Stan (Maryann) Vitale, Andy (Judy) Vitale, Elizabeth Vitale, Mae Vitale, Marilyn (Dan) Beran and Wendy (Kurt) Blotzer.
In addition to his parents, Emil was preceded in death by his brothers; Mike, Paul, Peter, John, Andrew, and Charles Ploskina and sisters, Mary Tokar Mowrey and Helen Vitale Scott.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on July 16, 2022, at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church.
Burial will be in McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery at a later date.

Ella McAraw, 91, of White Oak, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2022. Born October 19, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McGinty) McAraw.
She was employed at the U.S. Steel Christy Park Works for 30-plus years. Ella was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church in White Oak, and the Red Hat Society for women. Ella’s life was filled with many trips to the Twinsburg Festival in Ohio with her twin sister Mary. She traveled around the world, including several trips to Ireland, and socialized with her cousin Bernie and other friends and family whenever possible. Ella also loved watching sports and stunned many with her thorough knowledge of local sports figures as well as facts and trivia dealing with her beloved Steelers. Ella’s true passion, however, was her belief and strength in her faith. It was her faith that made her the most comfortable, knowing she was starting her new journey with God.

Frank G. Bonadio, age 82, of North Versailles, died June 20, 2022, at UPMC McKeesport. He was born on October 18, 1939, in Lock Haven, PA, and was the husband of the late Marigold (Morgan) Bonadio.
Frank worked for U.S. Steel as a Millwright and then for the National Institutes of Health. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 375.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Michelle Domiano, and grandsons, Matt (Aly), Joshua, and Dan Domiano.

Darlene M. Borowski, age 74, of Port Vue, died June 18, 2022, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital. Born October 25, 1947, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Glenn L. and Ann M. (Feltz) Borowski.
Darlene was an animal lover, liked to play bingo, and was always a good cook. She enjoyed traveling to Florida's Gulf Coast.
She is survived by her life long friend of 36 years, Debbie Brown; sisters, Beverly (the late Frank) Hijek, Glenda (Karen Light) Borowski, and Lori Borowski.
Darlene is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Murrell M. Eagle, age 66, of Versailles, died June 16, 2022, at home. Born January 29, 1956, in East Rainelle, WV, he was the son of the late Walter H. Eagle Jr. and Leila (Ward) Eagle Sheppard and husband of the late Deborah Eagle.
Murrell was a bodyman most of his life and always enjoyed working on cars. He liked to fish the Yough River at Boston and socializing with friends at various clubs.
He is survived by children, Derek Eagle and Brittany Eagle; step-children, Danielle (David) Daley, Trish Waggoner, Matt (Hannah) Brown, and Lindsey (John Mochar) Brown; grandchildren, Kira Eagle, Romeo Eagle, Yuri Miller, and Mayson Miller; step-grandchildren, Daniel Daley, Alayna Brown, Colton Brown, Jordan Mochar, Olivia Mochar, Jesse Waggoner, Joseph Waggoner, and Christian Cain; siblings, Sheila (Gary) Keener, Tricia (Tom) Keener, Connie (Will) Harrison, Brenda Eagle, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a son, Merle Eagle and brothers, Chuck Eagle and Eddie Eagle.

Christopher E. Rodgers, age 53, of North Versailles, formerly of McKeesport, died June 13, 2022, at home. Born June 12, 1969, in McKeesport, he was the son of Eugene Edgar Rodgers and the late Judith Ellen (Fallquist) Rodgers.
Chris worked at US Steel Irvin Works in the warehouse banding steel rolls, where he had 25 years of service. He was a Sons member of the American Legion of White Oak Post #701. Chris loved his dogs, Uno and Mira, and you could often find him purchasing the special of the day at local eating establishments to feed his loyal beloved best friends. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, and a toast with friends. Chris had a loving heart, contagious laugh, and a smile that will always be remembered.

Nora M. Winwood (Nunnie), age 84, of White Oak, was granted her angel wings on June 7, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Born September 2, 1937, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Pascuzzi) Lynch and wife of the late Samuel Scheirer and Paul Winwood.
Nora is survived by children, April Scheirer (Jeff McGrew), Raymond (Cindy) Scheirer, Michael (Jill) Scheirer, Tom Scheirer (Linda Matesig), Shawn (Lisa) Scheirer, and Steve Scheirer (Shari Thielet); daughter-in-law, Sandy Scheirer; granddaughter, Shannon (Michael) Tiernan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Philips; brother, Charles Crivella and many nieces and nephews. Nora was also preceded in death by sons, Timothy Scheirer and John Scheirer; granddaughter, Savannah Ricciuti.
Nora was known for her acts of kindness to all who knew her, her mission to help others and those in need, her love of Jesus, and her great ability to care for everyone around her. She loved her family and friends fiercely and will be missed by so many.
“An Angel from Heaven, that Set Fire Upon the Earth.” ... Nunnie is now our angel.

Mildred Kotulsky, age 96, of North Versailles, died June 5, 2022, at Juniper Village of Forest Hills. Born June 19, 1925, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Kumko) Sowa, and the wife of the late Phillip C. Kotulsky.
Mildred was a dedicated mother and wife. She was a member of Holy Family Polish National Catholic Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Mildred was a great cook and loved baking for her family and holiday events. She was also an avid gardener.
