Dale Raymond Gerstner, 77, of White Oak, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Harry F. and Marian (Carlson) Gerstner. He was born on the same day White Oak Borough was incorporated. He was a proud US Army Veteran, and served our country during the Vietnam War. Dale was the owner of Gerstner Autobody in White Oak, he was very talented working on Ambulances, Hearses, rare cars and many vehicles during his career. He was also a former part time police officer for White Oak and East McKeesport. Most importantly he was family man who walked a Christian life. He enjoyed his horses when he was young and very fond of nature. He also loved traveling, scuba diving, skiing, white water rafting and spending time on his back porch.

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Roy George Gray, of Rostraver Township, on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was born January 18, 1944 in McKeesport to the late Roy Sheridan and Doris (Pomilio) Gray. Roy was a man of kindness who lived a Christian life of integrity spending the last 30 years plus in Charleston SC, and recently returned, full circle, to Port Royal. Roy, an accredited songwriter, practicing guitarist, also enjoyed golfing, and playing PC simulator games. Roy could be described as a salesman by heart, a man who lived a life of adventure, racing stock cars, driving truck cross country, and even spent time working for NASA. He was also known as a well-versed entrepreneur, from the early days of collecting and reselling golf balls, to successfully  starting and managing multiple businesses in his lifetime. Roy enjoyed relaxing on the water, either sailing or in his speed boat. He also loved photography and loved taking pictures of family and friends. He is survived by his children, Mark (Kim) Gray of West Newton, Erika Gray of Harrisburg, and Cristi (Greg) Orr of Charleston, SC; his 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; siblings, Dean (Lilly) Gray, Marvin (Cathy) Gray, Betsy Sporio, and Scott (Margy) Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy is also preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Gray; as well as his sisters, Susan Manning and Rozanne Fowler. Michael Adam Jones, 30, of Irwin passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025. He was born May 6, 1995 in Pittsburgh to Robert Alan Jones and Susan (Macey) Bauman. Through the years, Mikes passion for cycling turned to motorcycle rides and working around cars - working for Kenny Ross Mazda as a Salesman and as a co-owner of Zak's Bike Shop. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and traveling. In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his sisters, Amanda (Jeff) Zeiler of Bethel Park, Amy (John) Dzurko of Bethel Park, and Jessica (Nick) D'Amato of Greensburg; his maternal grandfather, Robert (the late Catherine) Macey; and several nieces and nephews. Janet had a heart of gold, who would give everything for her beloved family, especially her good hugs. Leroy E. Potter, age 82, of Penn Hills, died August 8, 2025, in the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center-University Drive. Born November 24, 1942, in Wilkinsburg, he was the son of the late John E. and Ruth Mae (Ginther) Potter, and husband of the late Marilyn (Rosenberg) Potter.

Leroy dedicated many years of his professional life to Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh. He found joy in driving for Access, where his friendly nature and willingness to help others shone through. He proudly served in the Army at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, contributing to the nation he loved with honor and commitment.

An avid enthusiast of horse racing, NASCAR, and stock car racing, Leroy was known for his passion and fervor for the track, sharing thrilling stories and insights with friends and family alike. His love for sports was always accompanied by a spirit of camaraderie, making every experience enjoyable for those fortunate enough to be by his side. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.

William (Billy) M. Stevens, age 67, of New Alexandria, died August 7, 2025 at his home. Born October 26, 1958 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James Stevens and Shirley (Schlessinger) Stevens Burd, and life partner of the living, Pamela Lukacs Mrazik.

Billy was a giving man who exemplified kindness and generosity in every sense. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he would readily give the shirt off his back for his loved ones. Known for his humor-delivered in a gruff but endearing way-Billy's loyalty was unmatched, and guided those around him.

A true truck driver at heart, Billy loved anything with a motor. His drive came from his hero Max Schlessinger (his grandfather) who took him under his wing as a young boy. Billy often joked, "I've got more miles backing up than you do driving forward," a testament to the years he spent behind the wheel. His hands, often stained with engine grease, reflected a life deeply rooted in working on project cars and fixing things around the house. His passion for speed and motorsports was evident in his devotion as a NASCAR fan, dreaming of one day following the NASCAR Cup Series Circuit.

Joseph J. Diak, age 86 of North Huntingdon died August 10, 2025, at Independence Westmoreland Hospital. He was born October 22, 1938, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Joseph G. and Annabelle E. Kozlowski Diak. Joseph was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon. Prior to retirement Joe was employed by MSA.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at his camp in Tionesta, Pa. Joe enjoyed watching Western movies. Joe was a jack of all trades and there wasn't anything he wouldn't try. His favorite past time was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Dolores Jean Santimyer Diak, 3 sons, Michael (Shari), Steven (Amy), Jeffrey (Donna), daughter Jennifer Mollise (Sal), 7 grandchildren, Samantha (Dalton), Jacob (Angie), Amanda, Rebecca (Tyler), Mikayla, Nicholas (Victoria) and Madison (Edward), great grandchildren, Steel, Aaliyah, Amelia, Jensen, and Seren. George H. Valentine, 80, of Port Vue, died peacefully with his family by his side on Aug. 11, 2025.  He is the son of the late Anatole and Celia Elizabeth Valentine.  He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Catherine (Thomas) Valentine; daughters Katlyn (Michael) Bucci and Bobbi Jo (Tim) Showalter; grandchildren Sarah (Brian) Hayes, Larnell (Rylee) Randolph and Elliana Bucci; great grandchildren Violet Hayes and Rylo Randolph; sisters Celia, Phyllis and Katherine and brother Paul.  George was preceded in death by his son Georgie Valentine and brother Richard.   George was a man of good and loved Jesus.  He was a member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church, Pine Run United Methodist Church; was twice Past Master of Dallas Lodge 508; head of the Almoners and Charity Committee of the Dallas Lodge 231; member of the Lyons and was a former cub scout leader.  George also served in the US Ariforce.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Wed. from 3 to 8, with Masonic services taking place at 7:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 7:30.  The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and the nurses and staff on the 4th floor at Jefferson Hospital for all their care.

 


Miluse Ann (Koenig) Mina

Miluse Ann (Koenig) Mina, dame of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem, passed away peacefully at her home in San Diego, CA on Wednesday August 6, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1928, in the city of Brno, Czechia into a family of Czech-Austrian gentry. Miluse’s father was an officer in the Austrian Imperial Army and after the Great War a high-ranking government official and decorated hero of the Czech anti-Nazi resistance. Upon graduating from high school in 1946, Miluse enrolled at Charles University in Prague. The country was in turmoil as the communists were undermining the coalition government. Miluse attracted the attention of the secret police by stumping communist speakers at political meetings with her incisive arguments. Miluse was forced to flee her country after the February 1948 communist takeover. She arrived in Paris, where she soon met her future husband Albert Mina (Minya), a Ruthenian graduate student in botany and a fellow exile. The couple were married the following year, and in 1950 Miluse gave birth to a son John (Ivan). After moving from France to the United States, Miluse gave birth to three more children: Peter (1955), Michael (1957) and Maria Paula (1960).

Settling in California in 1959, the family joined St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Van Nuys, CA. Learning of her artistic talent, the pastor asked Miluse to paint the icons for his church. Miluse went on to adorn over fifty churches with icons in the United States, Canada and Europe. Since 1988, Miluse and her husband lived in San Diego, CA. Albert passed away in 2009. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents the late Vaclav and Emilia (Hendrych) Koenig. Miluse is survived by her children John (Father Ivan), Peter, Michael (his wife Diana), Maria Paula, and a grandson Nicholas.

Florence (Banyas) Szekely, age 92, of Braddock, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in UPMC Mercy. Born in Braddock on June 22,1933, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Obecunis) Banyas. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish-Good Shepherd Church, treasurer of the former Good Shepherd Senior Citizens, member of the Ladies Guild of Good Shepherd Church, director of the Third Order of Carmelites and was known for her wonderful nut rolls.

She was the wife of the late Rudolph Szekely. She is the mother of Rudolph (Marla) Szekely of Apollo, Cheryl (late Jerry) Pysk of Braddock, Brian Szekely of Braddock and the late Eric (wife Mary survives) Szekely of Pitcairn; grandmother of Rudolph “Rusty” (Madison) Szekely Jr, Jerry (Amy) Pysk, Andrea Pysk, Stephen Szekely, Cameron (Brook) Szekely, Nicholas Ehrhart and Robert Polinski; many great grandchildren; and sister of the late Bernice Bartirome.

She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching Court TV.

She was the wife of the late Allen Rozgonyi. She is the mother of Melanie Rozgonyi of Dravosburg and Jason (Jesse) Rozgonyi of West Mifflin; grandmother of Gabrielle (Mike) Martin, Alexandra Johnson, Hayleigh Johnson, Christian Rozgonyi, Laila Rozgonyi, Bella Iera, Delilah Iera and Nathan Sisko; great grandmother of Remington Martin, Theodore Martin, Vivienne Martin, Grayson Gazdag, Jackson Gazdag and Ayzleigh Sperber; sister of Karen (John) McClintock of Colorado and the late Alan Schnath and late Wayne Schnath. She was predeceased by her dog Sophie.

There will be No Visitation. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at the Mifflin Social Club, 4025 Irene St., West Mifflin.

Ruth A. Lewis, age 74 of North Huntingdon, now residing in Greensburg, died August 7, 2025, at Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. She was born October 20,1950 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Kelly Steele. Ruth was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1968. She was a member of the Circleville Firehall Ladies Auxiliary and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bingo, word searches and was known as the "library lady" at Stewartsville School. Her most special time was time spent with her son. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Charles Lewis and one sister, Kathy Steele. She is survived by her beloved son, Ben Lewis and his fiancée Kelly Donohue. Friends will be received at the JAMES W. Robert C. Odorcich, age 82 of White Oak, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.  Born September 8, 1942 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Thomas Odorcich, Sr. and Helen (Wasko) Odorcich.  A US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, Robert served as a military policeman. He was awarded The Presidential Service Badge and Certificate after being recommended by a Armed Forces Aide to the President and was given a flight certificate after getting the opportunity to fly in the presidential helicopter in June of 1965.  Robert was a retired engineer for Consol Energy and a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Angela's Church in White Oak.  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, watching golf, and crossword puzzles. Robert will be remembered as being truly devoted to his wife and children.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years Diane (Malos) Odorcich, his children Dena (John) Wolfe of Greensburg and Eric Odorcich of Irwin, his brother Ronald Odorcich of Elizabeth Twp.; granddaughter Lillianna Odorcich; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Odorcich, Jr. and his sister Kristine Baldridge.
