He was the son of the late Albino Maldonado and Cecilia (Kelly) Yniguez and the husband of Patricia (Ackerman) Maldonado. Thomas was best known for his love of fishing and would never miss an opportunity to pass on his true passion for catching the biggest fish. His nearly perfect attendance at the annual Lake Emily Fishing Derby was one of his greatest adventures. If anyone listened, he would tell stories of his fishin' trips while scratching off his bingo tickets. He religiously played his daily numbers, sometimes even lucky enough to win.
