Moira Brown, age 65, of Christy Park, died October 23, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born February 11, 1951, in Lancaster, England, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret (Ord) Zawasky and the wife of James C. Brown, Sr.
Moira worked as a home care nurse and cook until retirement. She was a great cook and was best known for her potato salad. She enjoyed camping at Deep Creek, MD and spending time riding motorcycles with her husband. Moira was truly the glue of the family.

Rosemarie (Paterra) Ruta, 82, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, died on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born on Feb. 10, 1934, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Falco and Laura (Rattanni) Paterra and the wife of Guerrino A. Ruta Sr. Rosemarie was retired from the former Bell Atlantic Corp., where she was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of St. Patrick Parish, where she was active with Christian Mothers, Bible Study Group, St. Anthony Novena and The Divine Mercy Prayers.

Margaret (Peg) Barowich, age 84, of Virginia, formerly of Port Vue, died on October 18, 2016, at Mary Washington Hospice, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born October 11, 1932, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Martha (Hupple) Kurtzrock and the wife of the late Theodore “Teddy” Barowich, who died May 19, 2010.

Margaret was retired after working for many years throughout her life, but her greatest joy was caring for her family.

Born January 14, 1941, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Jessie (Moon) Coulter. Don was a self-employed painter for most of his working years. He lived at McKeesport Towers and had many friends there. He enjoyed old movies, sports, bingo and ice cream. Many cousins survive Don, including Katherine Daugherty and Dennis Moon.

Kathy retired as an instructor at Mon-Yough Mental Health with over 25 years of service and before that she worked at US Steel National Tube Works, in McKeesport, for 5 years.

Dale F. Edwards, Jr., age 47, of Wilmerding, died October 2, 2016, at UPMC East. Born October 6, 1968, in Wilkinsburg, he was the son of Dale F. and the late Joanne E. (Lovett) Edwards, Sr.
Dale worked as a sales representative. He enjoyed collecting coins and genealogy, but his true passion was caring for his children.
In addition to his father, Dale is survived by his children, Ashley Marie and Dale F., III both of Versailles; siblings, Kim (Artie) Williams of Turtle Creek, Dana Edwards of Turtle Creek, Amber (Dan) Terza of North Versailles and Jennifer (Lou) Cortazzo of Penn Twp.; many nieces and nephews.

Robert S. “Bob” Harper, age 85, of West Mifflin, died October 1, 2016, at UPMC McKeesport. Born September 20, 1931, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Septimus and Elizabeth (Weaver) Harper and the husband of Shirley (Morgan) Harper, for over 60 years.
Bob was retired from the Bechtel Bettis, Inc., in West Mifflin. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ and the Amvets Post # 8, where he served as past commander. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports, college football and traveling with his wife.

Albert was a former mill pourer at U.S. Steel Duquesne Works. He was a member of the former American Legion Post #361 in McKeesport. Albert enjoyed duck-pin bowling, playing bingo and taking trips with his family and friends at the legion. He was a beloved brother and uncle.

Born June 29, 1925 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Ott) Clark and the wife of the late Christ “Swede” Hansen. During Ethel's 91 years of life she expressed the love of animals, music and dancing to rock-n-roll. She gifted these passions onto her children. She especially enjoyed feeding the birds and welcomed it as a daily ritual.
