John Paul "Johnny" Haus, age 85 of Hahntown, North Huntingdon died May 9, 2025, at his home. He was born May 6, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John L. and Margaret Hartman Haus. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver by Consolidated Freight Way. After he retired, Johnny did house painting and electrical work. He was a member of the Italian Miners Society Club, the Wendell club, enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and loved his friends from Hahntown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Haus and a sister, Sue Ann Truitt. He is survived by one son, Tommy Haus and his wife LaDonne, two daughters Tracey Ray (Rodney), Laurie Plummer, his twin sister, Margaret (Sissy) Wachter and two additional sisters, Janis Gallagher and Linda Rupert (Ken), grandchildren Jacob Ray, Tommy and Steven Haus, Emily Haus-McCarthy, Allison Plummer, Ethan Plummer, great grandchildren, Austin, Caleb, Finnley, Eleanor, Victoria and Zeke. Sarah Jane Diecks Aubrey, 97, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2025. She was born March 14,1928 in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania and spent most of her life in the Greater Pittsburgh area. She married Alfred Aubrey on February
14, 1949. Together, they built a life and a family over the course of their 65 years of marriage before his death in 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Gertrude Diecks; her siblings Ernest, Don, and LaRue; and her son-in-law, Robby King. Sarah is survived by her brother, Russell; three sons: Allan (Ruth), Rob (Theresa), and Rich (Sheri); four daughters: Jan Westfall (Marv), Nancy Miller (Carl), Laurie Steiner (Randy), and Christy King; 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Throughout her years, she was an active member in numerous Christian Churches, serving as a teacher, choir director, and minister’s wife. She was frequently involved in Vacation Bible School, church camp, and other
ministries of the church. She loved to bake and specialized in apple pies and cookies. She was also an excellent seamstress. The family will be gathering for a private celebration of her life, and interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Marie Elizabeth Moffat, aged 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on May 7, 2025, in McKeesport, PA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 19, 1950, in McKeesport, she was a beacon of light and an embodiment of love throughout her life. Marie was the cherished wife of Dennis H. Moffat, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and many memories. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Dennis C. Moffat of West Newton, Christina (Michael) Andiorio of Irwin, and Timothy (Melissa) Moffat of Delmont. Her role as a grandmother was one she held dear to her heart, always providing wisdom and warmth to her grandchildren, Andrew Moffat of California, Michelle (Jeffrey) Minnicks of McKeesport, Abigail (Michael) Andiorio of Irwin, and Amanda (Nick) Moffat of Delmont. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Stella Schussler, brothers Edward and Kenneth Schussler, and sister-in-law Lynn Simko.

James A. "Grumpy" Neher, age 89, of McKeesport, died May 7, 2025, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport. Born November 12, 1935, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William Neher and Helen (Zolczar) Neher Oleska and husband of the late Adele (Behary) Neher. James was a proud veteran of the United States Army, enlisting on November 15, 1954, and serving until his honorable discharge on September 26, 1958, where he achieved the rank of Specialist 4 (E-4). His service to his country was not just a chapter in his life, but a testament to his dedication to the values of duty and honor. After his time in the Army, James had a successful career for over 50 years as a truck driver, ending his career with Great American Truck Lines, where he navigated the open roads with the same spirit of adventure and commitment that defined his life. As a lifelong resident of the McKeesport area, he was a familiar face to many, always ready to share a story. James was a member of the Free Hungarian Reformed Church in McKeesport, where he found a deep sense of belonging and community.

John Philip Nemes, 72 of North Huntingdon died May 6, 2025 at Forbes Hospital, Monroeville. He was born July 16,1952 in McKeesport. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bo and two sisters, Virgina and Suzanne. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist by St. George Crystal. John was a graduate of Norwin, Class of 1970. He enjoyed ceramics and his motorcycles. He is survived by his live in companion, Cynthia Whiting Nemes. Funeral services will be private.

Jon A. Simpson, 73, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was born December 9, 1951 in McKeesport, the son of the late John and Erna (Zauper) Simpson. Jon was a retired mortgage banker. He enjoyed classic cars and anything with a motor. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sue (Grimm) Simpson; his children Heather (Craig) Wilmotte and Brett A. (Alesha) Simpson; and his grandchildren Jocelyn, Tegan, Jaxson, and Baylor. He is also survived by sons and daughters of the heart: Joe and Jonette, Harry and Becky, Brian and Kristen, and Anthony and Jennifer. Monique Hardy was born on May 2, 1967, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a native of the Hill district and was later raised in Detroit, Michigan. Monique relocated to Penn Hills, PA where she was raised by her Grandmother Sybil Hardy Butler.
Monique raised her children in Lancaster, S. C. before finally settling down in McKeesport, PA, where she peacefully found her way to Glory surrounded by her children and loved ones.
Monique was the oldest child of the late great Sharron (Sissy) Hardy and Roderick Pickett Sr. She was loved dearly and those who knew her all called her "MOE!” Monique received her education in the Pittsburgh Public School District. Moe was the most loving, caring lady walking this earth, it wasn't a soul she wouldn't help or a kid she wouldn't watch.

Margaret Anna “Peggy" Wingrove, 66 of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born September 6, 1958 in Turtle Creek, a daughter of Thomas A. and Alva (Randolph) Solomon. She worked at Trafford Middle School as a supervisor in the cafeteria. Peggy loved the children and coworkers in her school community. She was a hardworking, good person who had a way of making everyone feel special. She enjoyed camping trips to Keystone State Park, crafting, sewing, diamond art, had a good sense of humor, and would frequently dress up for school in outfits that would express her personality. Peggy was a loving mother and grandmother, who was always on the move and she was willing to help anyone that needed it.
