Jerome “Jerry” Bury passed away on April 9, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after complications from surgery. Born November 2, 1954 in North Charleroi, PA, Jerry was the son of the late John and Matilda Bury. Jerry was a practicing Catholic and a true believer in family. He was a person who gave countless acts of selfless love. He would be there for you at the drop of a hat for his family and friends. As the Bible reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:24, “No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.” Jerry lived this verse every day of his life, always putting the needs of others before his own. He loved his nieces and nephews more than anything in the world. Our finest memories were him simply picking us up from school, seeing his glowing smile, and hearing his famous words, “Hey dude, how’s it going?” It always made his day seeing his family happy and together. Jerry held a pivotal role in our family, being someone that you could lean on. He loved his wife dearly. He loved his family, his dog Oscar, and his many friends. One thing that we should take from this is to smile more. Jerry had a smile that could change a day. He wanted everyone to get along and enjoy life stress-free. He never complained, ever; if anything, he was the ear that would listen to your problems. He will be missed dearly by his loved ones. In his youth he worked at the Charleroi Bowling Lanes and was retired from Volkswagen. Jerry enjoyed hunting, card games, and was an excellent bowler and golfer. He was a member of the Belgian Club, Italian Club, 10th Street AC, American Legion, Allenport Sportsman Club, Elco Sportsman Club, Charleroi Russian Club, and Slavic Club.
