Raymond James "Nick" Johnson, 71, of Christy Park, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at home surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 24, 1944 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Walter and Helen Berry Johnson. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Eleventh Ward Welfare Association, Turner's, and the Port Vue American Legion. Raymond was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a Combat Medic. He received the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, the Silver Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Medical Badge. Wisser Lyons of Coulter and the late John T. Lyons. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish, Elizabeth Township and was secretary of Betters Company, Inc. Debra loved playing bingo with her friends, sewing, and baking. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael G. Betters, daughter, Autumn (Mike) Nicolazzo of North Huntingdon, sons, Justin (Carrie) Betters of North Huntingdon and Michael A. Betters of Lincoln Borough, grandchildren, Julia and Jake Betters, sisters, Ruth Anne Lyons of West Palm Beach, Fl, and Tammy Wright of North Versailles, brother, John Lyons of White Oak, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and her beloved dog, Diesel.

Franklin "Brownie" Duane Brown, 89, of Greenock, died Sunday, March 27, 2016. He was born July 3, 1926 in Greenock and was the son of the late Joseph W. and Elda J. Kretschmer Brown. He was the husband of the late Betty Lou Widany Brown who died August 21, 2006. Brownie was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenock. He was also a member and past Post Chaplin of the Elizabeth VFW Post 7632 and past Commander of the Elizabeth American Legion Post 553. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and had received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal. He was retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County after 34 years of service.
