Herrmann, Jr. of Irwin; brothers Eugene (Janet) Herrmann of Glassport and Paul (Mary Alice) Herrmann of Largo, FL; sisters Kathy (Harry) Chesney of Braddyville, Iowa and Lori Mendiola of Junction City, Kansas; also 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother Rodger Herrmann.  David was a retired motor inspector for US Steel; a member of the White Oak American Legion; Junior Order of Mechanics Coal Valley Council #98 and served in the US Army.  Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, Wed. 2-8.  A funeral service will be held Thurs. 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.

Ronald Brian Frantish, age 60 of Wake Forest, N.C. passed away peacefully on October 15, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Kathryn Ringelstein Frantish; brother Roger (Gertrude) Frantish and sister Rhoda (Daniel) Wolfe, plus several nieces and nephews.  He was pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Mary Frantish of Buena Vista, Pa.

Ron was of the Class of 1974 of Elizabeth Forward High School, graduated with honors from Carnegie-Mellon University and retired from IBM after 32 years of service as a senior systems engineer.

Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held November 4, 2017, at the Mt. Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, 2200 Buena Vista Rd., McKeesport, PA. 

Family will receive visitors at 10:00 a.m. in the Church Parlors with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Company #1,  3333  Fire Station St., Buena Vista, PA 15018 or the Punta Gorda Lions Club Foundation, PO Box 510915,  Punta Gorda,  FL 33951.

James was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He served on the Battleship New Jersey. For his service, he received the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the China Service Medal. He was retired from the US Steel Edgar Thompson Works. He was the loving husband of Peggy Page Comer Sepcic, devoted father of Laura Ann Mierow of Wauwatosa, WI, Christine Marie Napotnik of Gibsonia, Rebecca S. (Lee) Miller of Phoenix, AZ, Robert G. Neal and Stephen L. Neal of North Huntingdon, and James D. Neal of White Oak, compassionate "Pap Pap" of Aubrianna and Georgena Mierow, Adam Napotnik, Ryan Polito, Ashlee Miller, Robert G. He was a retired general foreman for Westinghouse Airbrake Co., Wilmerding, and a member of American Legion Post 359 and L.O.O.M., Lodge 236, both of Irwin. Bob was a Navy veteran of WWII and was recently recognized by the Tribune Review for being one of the last remaining survivors of an explosion on the USS Turner off the coast of New Jersey that killed 136 sailors in January of 1944. The cause of the explosion was never solved. He is survived by his wife Anne S. (Pertzog) Mowry; his children Bea (Tom) Airgood of Penn Hills, Robert R. She was a member of the former St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Duquesne, Pa. for many years. She was involved in many different organizations in her church and community.  She loved to bowl and was involved in several bowling leagues besides going to Delaware beaches in the summer. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Nick Stiliha; two daughters, Barbara Allsopp of Smyrna, Delaware, and Gerry Levin of West Palm Beach, Florida; her grandchildren, Ronni Caromano of Wilmington, Delaware, Brent Allsopp of Alexandria, VA, Kaci Rainey of Newark, Delaware, and Julie Levin of North Palm Beach, Florida; great grandchildren, Zoe, Rocky, and Lucy Rainey of Newark, Delaware; siblings, Mary Ann Burns of West Mifflin, Pa and several nieces and nephews.

Edward A. “Moe” Kane, age 84 of Dravosburg, died October 1, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 20, 1933 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward P. and Lula “Lucy” (Rodman) Kane. Edward honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began working for the Union Railroad Transportation Division having retired after 35 years of dedicated service. He faithfully attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Mifflin and was a past Eucharist Minister at St. Martin de Porres. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree #955 and also American Legion Post 361. He is survived by his special niece, Mary Ann Kane of McKeesport; and many other loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James E. P. Kane and Henry F. Kane; and sisters, Rita C. Gilligan and Sara Rodman. There will be no viewing per Ed’s wishes, however family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 10-10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Father Patrick C.
