Deborah M. "Debbie"  Filson, 64, of North Huntingdon, passed away, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1957 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John F. Trepanowski and Betty (Kovalyak) Trepanowski of  White Oak.  She was the wife of the late Dennis J. Filson, Sr., who passed away November 10, 2017.   Debbie was a staff member of the UPMC McKeesport Cancer Center, and would later work at Home Depot for a short time.  Debbie was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at their Corpus Christi Worship Site.  She was a proud member of The Click Clack Club. Debbie also was a surrogate mother to Truck Company Marines.

Paula Jean Pope, 61, of Hempfield Township, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. She was born August 20, 1960 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late John F. Trepanowski and Betty (Kovalyak) Trepanowski of White Oak. She worked numerous jobs throughout her life, but most recently worked as an office manager at Hydro Technical Services in Elizabeth. She was a huge supporter of our veterans and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at The Port Vue American Legion Post 447. She was also a member of The West Hempfield American Legion Post 53 and The Wendel-Herminie Athletic Association. She loved camping, campfires and poker machines. Paula also loved spending time with her relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Anthony R. "Tony" Hilko, Sr.,86, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was born March 1, 1935 in Glassport and was the son of the late Michael and Anna Mary (Smolchick) Hilko.  Tony was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life, he was a bricklayer, worked for the former Continental Can and retired as a security guard for Magee Hospital. He was quiet, but well liked. Tony enjoyed fishing and deer hunting, especially at his camp in Potter County.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy A. (Dudash) Hilko, children, Anthony "Tony" (Karen) Hilko, Jr. of North Huntingdon, Diane (Ronald) Spyra of Washington, Michele (Frank Ley) Celko of Vandergrift and Michael Hilko of Glassport, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Eleanor Louise (Whiteman) Herbert passed away quietly in her home with her husband, Paul, at her side on September 10, 2021 after a period of declining health. They were married 64 years and are devoted Christians. A native of Buena Vista, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anne Whiteman. Eleanor earned her BS degree from University of San Francisco and her MS degree from Golden Gate (SF) University in accounting. She worked for Variance Associates of Palo Alto for 20 years and Lockheed (LMMS) for 15 years before retiring to Carmel Indiana in 1998.

He was born July 6, 1938 in Smithton and was the son of the late John and Loma (Robertson) Rhoades . He was the husband of the late  Carol A. (Casteel) Rhoades, who passed away February 16, 2016. Alvian worked many jobs throughout his life, including working as a coal miner, heavy equipment operator, saw mill operator and for the Ford Motor Company.  He enjoyed guns and hunting.

She was born December 28, 1947 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Peter Coltogirone and the late Ruby Mae Walker. She was the wife to the late Tim Alexander, who passed away April, 8, 2018. Lorraine had a hard shell, but had the biggest heart and was there for anyone at anytime! She was a loving wife and caretaker, who had the mindset to put everyone else's needs ahead of her own, which made her an amazing mother, sister and grandmother.

Kathy Marie Slosky, 76, of Pittsburgh, passed away with her son by her side on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was born June 16, 1945, in Bentleyville, PA and was the daughter of the late Albert August "Jack" and Anna (Frencik) Slosky. She graduated from Bentworth High School in 1963 and then attended Robert Morris Junior College, graduating in 1964. Kathy lived in Washington, D.C. and worked for GTE (later Verizon) for over 20 years. Upon returning to the Pittsburgh area, Kathy was a faithful and active member of First Lutheran Church. The First Evangelical Lutheran Church in downtown Pittsburgh was an important part of her life as well as the many wonderful people who made her feel very welcome and special. She always made a point of remembering what everyone’s favorite “thing” was and when invited to visit, she would walk in carrying that special thing you loved.

She retired from Chubb and Son Group Insurance Company as an Internal Auditor. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Grygo, daughter, Dr. Patricia A. (John Hogan) Jameson of Pittsburgh, brother, Paul (Carmella) Krutz of Greenock, grandsons, Robert T. Jameson and Thomas S. Jameson, and nephews, Vennie (Terry) Krutz and J. Anthony (Suzanne) Curcio. She was born December 6, 1952 in Mckeesport and was the daughter of Evelyn (Fravega) Schaffner of Versailles and the late William Schaffner. Pam was retired from Rivers Casino. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her life revolved around her grandchildren. She was always available to help and give of her time to others. Pam loved to cook and entertain family and friends. She was a fanatical Pittsburgh Steeler fan and was known to many as "Mama Pam". In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Charles (Laura) Readel of North Huntingdon and daughter, Tricia Kaylor of White Oak, brothers, Brian (Linda) Schaffner of Monroeville and Billy Schaffner of Versailles, grandchildren, Joey Readel, Christian Readel, Mia Perri, Karli Kaylor, Addison Readel and Quinn Readel, nieces and nephews and her granddogs, Queenie and Jacoby. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Staci Marie Perri and brother, Kim Schaffner. Jay Z. Zaracki, 58, of McKeesport, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021. He was born July 23, 1963 in Braddock and was  the son of the late Joseph Z. Zaracki Sr.  and Mary Ann (Norman) Zaracki Costello of McKeesport.  Jay worked many jobs throughout his life as a carpenter and as a groundskeeper at Braddock Catholic Cemetery. He was a good, easy going guy and will be missed. In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, James (Debbie) Zaracki of Carnegie, Joe Zaracki, and Jarrett Zaracki of McKeesport, and Johnnie Zaracki of Brookline, sister, Jerry (Dan) Keenan of Las Vegas, NV., and nieces and nephews.
