Patricia Ann "Patti" Ryan, 58, of Lincoln Borough passed away Monday, March 7, 2022. She was born May 2, 1963 in McKeesport and is the daughter of the late Alfred and Delight (Dingledine) Supernovich. Patti worked for Merck-Medco as an Order Entry Technician for many years. She enjoyed Nascar, scrap booking and camping. Patti loved all of her pets who passed before her. She is survived by her husband, Darren T. Ryan of Lincoln Borough, sisters, Carrie Doonan, Rachel Bergman, Marsha Koss and many nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. Paula T. (Sinclair) Marzaloes, 59, of Irwin, formerly of Port Vue and Elizabeth passed away on Monday March 7th, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born March 27, 1962 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Joseph Sr. and Edna (Thearle) Sinclair. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother of 3, and a special friend to many. After a 30-year traditional nursing career at Shadyside Hospital, Paula followed her passion for helping others by bridging the gap of Eastern and Western medicine, establishing her business, Natural Solutions for Health and Wellness. She was a healer, always in search of restoring wellness within all of us. For all of that love and dedication, we will forever be grateful. Paula was a fun, loving person with an incredible sense of humor and a passion for travel. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She will always be in our hearts.

William "Bill" Russell Gardner, 94, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at home. He was born October 11, 1927 in McKeesport and was the husband of the late Dorothy (Holsing) Gardner. They were married for 66 years. He was a member of the former First United Presbyterian Church of Boston and Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. Bill was retired from Verizon and was a US Navy Veteran serving during WWII. He is survived by his daughter, Lois (Michael) Kerklo of Seville, OH, grandchildren, Tammy, Kelly, Jennifer, Joshua, Jason, Shane, and Cole, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, Joseph Tassone of Kennerdell, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Gardner and daughter, Kimberly Tassone. Peter U. Lotz, Sr., 80, of Liberty Borough, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born September 10, 1941 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Herman and Martha Jane (Bildhauser) Lotz. Pete was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, and the Liberty Borough Lions Club. He also coached football for GYFA.
He was a graduate of McKeesport High School and was Proprietor of Pete Lotz Construction. He had previously worked for the National Cash Register Company. Pete was a devoted family man, both to his wife and children, and to his siblings and mother. His family is what he lived for. As a Master Craftsman, Pete built houses and additions for family and others. He loved animals (especially dogs), sports, (football and NASCAR) and cars (Antique and Muscle). Even when they were older, he and Marlyne would cruise around with the top down in his 67 Pontiac Firebird, chirping tire like teenagers, looking for a race. His big heart lead him to give his all to anyone and everyone.

Eugene J. “Pookey” Hall, Sr., 86, peacefully passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. He was born on June 1, 1935 in Monessen and was the son of the late Oliver and Concepta Maria “Lena” (Fiorill) Hall. He was preceded in death by his wife: Marlene Denise Hall; 3 children: Eugene Hall, Jr., Cindy Hall, and Jeffrey Hall; as well as 2 grandchildren: Elizabeth and Mary Koontz.
Eugene grew up in Monessen, where he regularly attended St. Leonard’s Catholic Church and served as an altar boy. Eugene was a standout basketball player at Monessen High School, where he scored the first basket in the new gym at the time. He was a US Army Veteran (1954-1956), worked at the Page Division of American Chain and Cable, retired from Corning Glass Works, was a foreman for DomenAlex Inc. and later drove a taxi for Tri-County Access. Eugene also had a great mind for numbers.

Dorothy Ruth (White) Cartwright, 92 years old, passed away on Ash Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, PA. She was born June 25, 1929 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Dr. Howard E. White and Ruth (Gloss) White. She was a 1947 graduate of McKeesport High School. She graduated from Robert Morris Business College in 1948 before graduating from McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. She moved to White Oak in 1992 and retired from McKeesport Hospital as an RN in 1994. In 2015 she moved to Redstone Highlands North Huntingdon. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Park Methodist Church and also attended First Evangelical Free Church. Dorothy never retired from taking care of people. Even after her retirement from the hospital, she continued to care for those around her - neighbors, family and friends. In earlier years after retiring, she enjoyed taking short bus trips with friends.

He was born November 9, 1930 in the Village of Pigi on the Island of Ikaria in Greece and was the son of the late George and Anna (Tsounis) Pedos. Gust was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church,White Oak and the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood. Katie Mary Ann Maringo, 40, of Donora, lost her courageous battle with numerous illnesses on March 2, 2022 and is no longer in pain or suffering. She was born November 17, 1981 in McKeesport and was the daughter of Frank and Bonnie M. (Arnold) Maringo of North Versailles. Katie was a former member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church and had previously worked for Petco and Brize's Kennels. She had a special love for animals. Katie enjoyed making jewelry for her friends and family. She had a love of music, she had just got a purple guitar and amp for her last birthday, that had brought her so much joy. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Katie was a kind, caring and compassionate person who will be very missed.

Danny G. Ulm, 65, of Dravosburg, formerly of Versailles, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022. He was born August 1, 1956 in McKeesport and is the son of the late George "Red" McKivitz and the late EllaMae K. Ulm. Danny worked as a truck driver for AJ Silberman & Co. for many years. He was a Volunteer Firefighter for Versailles Station 286 and was also a member of the Polish National Alliance Lodge 352. He loved gardening, fishing, and was a huge McKeesport Tigers and Ohio State Football fan. His family meant the world to him and he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Danny collected model fire trucks and firemen memorabilia and was an avid collector of model trains. Every year during Christmas, he would build a giant display for his whole family to see and eventually it became a year round passion of his.

Ruth Mae Saunders, 86, of McKeesport passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. She was born May 3, 1935 at home in Elizabeth and is the daughter of the late John David and Ruth Mae (Berwick) Richards. She was the wife to the late Richard C. Saunders, who passed away April 30, 2013. Ruth was a member of the Coulter Road Baptist Church for many years. She also worked for McGuire Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid. She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Ron) Crabtree of Florida, and Patricia Matteson of West Virginia, siblings, Judy Langsdorf and LeRoy Richards, both of McKeesport, grandchildren, Jessica, Amy, Alicia and Nathan, along with 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
