"Jake" Sulesky, 85, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his home.  He was born May 22, 1935 in McKeesport, a son of the late Alexander and Anna (Strager) Sulesky.  Prior to his retirement, Jake was a technician for Bell Telephone and was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam Era. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Sulesky.

Frank J. Visocky

Frank J. Visocky died on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at his Redstone Highlands residence in North Huntingdon, PA. Frank was born on November 27, 1917 in Connellsville, PA and was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Anastasia (Skero) Visocky; son-in-law, Daniel Kovac; Father and Mother, Michael and Anna Visocky, as well as all of his brothers and sisters. Frank is survived by his son, Edward Visocky (Denise) of Valley Center CA; daughters, Janet Kovac of Greensburg, PA and Catherine (Robert) Tokar of Lakewood Ranch FL; grandchildren, Jena (Andy) Whipkey of Cranberry PA, Danielle (Scott) Lang of Irwin PA, Jacob (Nicole) Kovac of Acme PA, and Corey Tokar of Orlando, FL as well as five great grandchildren (Hannah, Mason, Xavier, Aaron, and Luke). He was a WWII Veteran, Sergeant in US Army Air Force, long standing member of the Mt Pleasant American Legion and a retiree of Westinghouse Corporation. Frank was a member of St Agnes Parish, North Huntingdon PA and formerly a member of the Visitation Church and men’s rosary society, Mt Pleasant PA. He was a devout Catholic and hardworking family man who loved to tinker around the house. His family and faith were very important to Frank and he was always there to help anyone in need. He will be dearly missed by all.

Friends and family will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike North Huntingdon, PA on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be at the Visitation Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 740 Walnut Street, Mt Pleasant, PA on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11am followed by an intermittent burial service at the Visitation Cemetery in Mt Pleasant, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to Tunnel to Towers or Redstone At Home Hospice.

Elizabeth A. Turley, 82, of North Versailles, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Manor Care of Monroeville.  She was born December 13, 1937 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Augustus and Nellie (Churchfield) Frankford.  Prior to her retirement, Elizabeth was a secretary for Westinghouse Electric and later a bookkeeper for the Department of Aging.  She was member of Immaculate Conception Church, Irwin, enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and playing games on her Kindle, crocheting and was an avid Pittsburgh sports team fan.  In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, William Turley; brother, Francis Frankford; and sister, Sheila Kelley.  She is survived by her son, William (Kathi Carr) Turley; daughters, Paula (David) Patterson, Patricia (Reggie) Tabb, Janet (Tom Labuda) Bacco; ten grandchildren, Matthew, Carrie, Mark, Alexis, Allyson, Amanda, Nicholas, Nathan, Aidan and Declan.  Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the James W. Arvilla Mae Johnson

Our beloved mother, Arvilla Mae Johnson was born September 22, 1926 and through her almost 94 years, she has been a Godly mentor to not only her children but everyone she met.  On September 15, 2020 she went to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.  Daughter of James and Florence Williams.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Frank Johnson Jr.; brothers, James Williams Jr., Richard Williams, Robert Williams; sister, Sara (Betty) Johnson and Mary Ann Henderson.  Surviving are her children, Frank (Carolyn) Johnson III, Paul (Rebecca) Johnson, Carol (Donald) Hart; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Friedline.  Friends will be received from 10-11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Open Door Baptist Church, 970 N. L. James Auberle, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020.  He was born July 19, 1928 in McKeesport, a son of the late Logan Mains and Lillie Mae (Davis) Auberle.  Prior to his retirement, James was a manager for Bell Telephone for 42 years, a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War Era, and a member of Mary, Mother of God Catholic Church, McKeesport.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Joseph Auberle.  He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary (Savona) Auberle; son, Dr. James Auberle; daughter, Karen Hathcock and her husband, Rick; sister, Donna;  grandchildren, Melissa (Jacob) Studer, Christine Auberle; great-grandson, Jackson Asher.  Services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary, Mother of God Parish, McKeesport in memory of James.  Arrangements made by the James W. Helen McGrew of N. Huntingdon passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.  She was born in McKeesport, preceded in death by her husband, Findley McGrew.  She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Helen was a homemaker and was known in the family as “the best cookie baker ever”! More than anything, she cherished her family.  She enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Norwin YMCA in her 70’s.  She was also a faithful supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Boystown.  She loved working in her huge yard and maintaining it all by herself up until the age of 82.  She mowed the lawn and did all the shrubbery trimming.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Raymond) Dirjan, Donna (Gus) Bricker and Shirley Hindman; five grandsons, Christopher (Amy) Findura, Gregory (Stephanie) McCullough, Robert (Tara) Hindman, Richard (Kelly) Hindman, and Anthony (Kristin) Dirjan.  She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Blystone, 93, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon.  She was born July 7, 1927 in Turtle Creek, a daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Urias) Lyons.  Sarah was a circuit board operator  for Switch & Signal Electronics and later retired from Femco.  She enjoyed dancing and traveling with her husband, Bill. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William H. Blystone; brothers, Melvin (Esther), Lauren (Emma), Lawrence (Dolores) Lyons; and sister, Myra (Paul) Weschitz.

Dingeldein, 30, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian.  He was born August 3, 1990 in Pittsburgh, a son of Robert and Leslie (DeFalco) Dingeldein.  Robbie was a graduate of Norwin Sr. High School Class of 2008  where he played soccer.  He was a machinist for Kiczan Manufacturing and enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes and spending time outdoors with his sons.  He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David DeFalco; and paternal grandfather, Roy Dingeldein.

Veverka, 75, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Excela Health Westmoreland.  He was born May 1, 1945 in Greensburg, a son of the late Russel and Hazel (Ingrham) Veverka.  Prior to his retirement, Ron was a police officer for 34 years for North Huntingdon Township, a veteran of the US Air Force, and a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Regan Veverka.  He is survived by his son, Robert Veverka and his wife, Jennifer; daughter, Roni A. Johnson and her fiancé, Jeff Barry; and three loving grandchildren, Ryan and Claire Veverka and Dannon M. Johnson; brothers, David (Paula) Veverka, Richard (Marge) Veverka; and sister, Norma Jean Truxal.  Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, FOP Lodge will hold a service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the James W. (Miele) Helfmann, 76, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.  She was born September 29, 1943 in Braddock, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony Mylo and Mary (Wallace) Miele.  Prior to her retirement, Mary was a floor manager for Walmart and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.  She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading on her Kindle, playing computer games, attending high school plays and dining with her friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Helfmann;  brothers, Anthony (Eileen) Miele, Raymond Miele, David (partner, Dorothy) Miele, Robert (Danielle) Miele and Armand Miele. She is survived by her son, Todd and his wife, Kelly; two daughters Tracie Helfmann, Toni Kunselman and her husband, Erik; two grandsons, Joshua (Jessica) and Tyler Helfmann; and two grand dogs EmmyLou (Harris) Kunselman and Waylon (Jennings) Kunselman.  Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the James W. She was born October 7, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Albert and Agnes Harvanek Gulentz. Rosemarie was a member of St. Agnes Church, North Huntingdon where she sang in the church choir. Prior to her retirement she was employed in the retail sales industry. She enjoyed shopping, flea markets, travel, playing the organ and a was a great keyboardist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Conti. She is survived by two sons, Jim and his wife, Linda, and Rick Conti, one daughter, Cindy Dushack and her husband John, 5 grandchildren, James A. Don was very active in both the Norwin and Irwin Rotary clubs serving his community. He was a graduate of Clarion University and an avid golfer. Edward B. Cornes, age 80 of Addison, Pa died August 27, 1920 in Allegheny Valley Hospital. He was born October 16, 1939 in Trafford, a son of the late Edward and Agnes Cornes. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his son Jeff. He was a graduate of both Clarion and Washington and Jefferson College with a Masters Degree in Education. He is survived by his son Scott and his wife Kathy, one daughter, Wakako Maeda, niece Nikki Scheafnocker and her husband Kevin, great niece and nephew, Alex and Sofia.
